Having a job is one of the things to be thankful for in life especially amid the pandemic. However, we can’t deny that there are times where we would feel that our hard work isn’t paying off no matter how hard we strive.

I just want you to know that it’s normal to feel that way. Working isn’t easy and it’s okay to feel tired. You should not forget to give yourself a break.

But please, never ever give up working hard.

It’s because your efforts and perseverance will always be worth it. And some people would actually see it, especially if you’re consistent.

Chad Turns, a UPS driver has been working hard for more than 10 years.

He doesn’t only pick up and deliver packages but he also put his heart into what he does. And apart from that, he is also very kind.

A lot of people have witnessed his kindness and hard work – including the residents of Dauphin, Pennsylvania.

Chad isn’t from Dauphin but most people there know him not only as their UPS driver but also as a friend. As they all have experienced Chad’s kindness and witnessed how passionate he is about his job, they wanted to express their appreciation to him.

So, they came up with a huge plan.

It was led by resident Jenny Shickley, the one who also put up the Facebook event and she named it “Thank You, Chad!“. They aimed to raise $500.00 so they could give him a present that they think he deserves.

“The community of Dauphin would like to give a BIG thank you to our local UPS driver, Chad,” she also wrote.

Fortunately, they were able to raise more than $500 in less than 2 days. Over 40 people contributed to the fundraising and they were able to collect $1000.

They also made sure that everything was organized.

They even coordinated with Chad’s local UPS office and dispatch to hold the surprise well. They also invited many residents from their town to participate in the special event.

They prepared balloons and other decorations to make it more special. Of course, aside from the monetary gift, there are other presents such as a big book where they all wrote their heartwarming messages for Chad.

It’s funny that they made Chad believe that he needed to pick up an on-demand delivery on that special day.

And when it was time for the surprise, a lot of them were waiting for him to get off the truck. Chad was clueless about the whole thing but they immediately told him that everything he was seeing at that moment was prepared for him.

They let him open his gifts.

He then saw the huge book filled with sweet messages that are dedicated to him. In the video, you would hear all the kind messages from the residents. All of them appreciated how he has been doing his job for a year. One of them even thanked him for “taking care” of them.

A woman also mentioned how he has been working hard even during the pandemic.

It was a touching moment that made Chad smile.

And after a few minutes, Chad was not able to hold back his tears.

“I don’t know what to say now, you got me choked up,” he said.

Clearly, Chad was also thankful for the appreciation that he received from the residents of Dauphin. These people also have big hearts as much as he does.

It safe to say that Chad, who is a kind person has been serving kind people like him. His story is a reminder for all of us that when you’re consistently working hard, it would eventually pay off someday.
