In the Orkney Islands, a local businessman Dan wanted to add a bit of Easter fun to his community.

What he got instead was a comedy of errors that turned into something pretty amazing.

Instead of the 80 chocolate Easter eggs he thought he ordered, Dan ended up with 80 cases. That’s 720 eggs.

“I thought just 80 individual eggs would be coming, but in reality, I’d ordered 80 cases,” he says, finding himself in a hilariously oversized predicament.

At first, Dan was a bit miffed with himself.

But then, looking at his kids, who were obviously over the moon about the Easter bounty, he couldn’t help but see the funny side.

It’s one of those moments where you go from “Oh no” to “Well, this is going to be interesting” in a heartbeat.

Dan’s egg fiasco and his decision to raffle off 100 eggs for charity solved the problem of the egg surplus while turning him into a local legend.

“I’ve heard the Eggman of Orkney,” he shares, and you can almost hear the chuckle in his voice.

It’s a nickname that’s both a gentle ribbing and a badge of honor.
