It’s never easy having to say goodbye to a loved one when they need to travel overseas for work. Families spend a year or so apart from that one individual who’s willing to make all the sacrifices to ensure that they are safe and provided for.
No one knows this better than those who have family members in uniform. The selfless acts of bravery and sacrifice, knowing full well the risks that come with their calling constantly nag their loved ones at home.
There’s no assurance when a man or woman in uniform can come home, so when they do get that chance, it’s always a special occasion. Get ready and hold on to those tissues.
These Welcome Home moments are guaranteed tearjerkers!
This is brotherly love in all the right senses. Considering that from a historical context, brothers always seem to be at war with each other. Bible readers, remember Cain and Abel? How about Joseph and his brothers?
Even Shakespeare had brothers constantly battling. Well what most historians don’t realize is that there are many more brothers out there who’d rather be best friends than bitter rivals.
This Marine found his way back home, and just like any big brother, why not have fun with his younger bro?
The young lad can be seen blindfolded, standing in front of the kitchen. His older brother walks in quietly as mom explains what’s going to happen,
“K, now, Imma’ put this in your hand and you have to feel it, and try to guess what you’re feeling.”
His big bro puts his utility cap in the hands of his younger brother, and mom tells her son to feel it.
“Is it a hat?”
He asks.
Trying to figure out what kind of hat it was, he continues to grope the cap, and in frustration, drops the cap on the floor. He picks it up and assumes the stance of one taking the oath, reciting it in a mocking tone.
“I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America… What is it??”
Mom tells him to take his blindfold off and as he opens his eyes, he sees that in his hands is a “Marine hat”. Mom asks,
“Do you like it? Do you know whose hat that is?”
The little man’s face showed obvious delight, even guessing that it might be his big bro’s.
Mom asks him if he likes the surprise and at that moment, he turns around and sees his older brother. He gasps and falls down in shock before picking himself back up, jumping into his brother’s arms with tears running down his handsome face.
“Watsup dude?”, big bro asks him. His bro buries his face deep in to his brother’s shoulder, both smiling and crying at the same time. Crying yet? He sets his brother down, saying that he’s grown since the last time he’s seen him. It’s anyone’s guess as to how long he was away.
And all for family and country!
Time and distance mean nothing for these two brothers. After a dad, a brother may be the best friend a son could have granted they grow up in a well balanced and healthy household. There are so many moments to share, experiences and struggles to have together, and once old age sets in, lots of awesome memories to look back to. This little dude had one of the best days of his life and it was all because of his brother.
