City streets are considered unsafe places for kids, particularly if they are wandering about without an adult to look after them. This is why a lot of parents go to great lengths just to make sure that their kids can’t leave home without their knowledge.
A toddler named Kh’amorion Taylor managed to get out of his father’s home in St. Louis, Missouri.
It’s not clear how he managed to slip out of the family home. The only thing that’s clear was that his father or anyone in the family knew about his escape.
The lost boy was found wandering the streets of St. Louis without shoes.
Other than that, the kid appeared to be healthy. He was still wearing his pajamas when he managed to escape.
A woman spotted the poor kid.
The neighbor, who didn’t want to be named, was out with her dogs when she saw Kh’amorion. Knowing how dangerous it is for a kid to be out on the street, she acted quickly.
The woman shared:
“He looked well taken care of, he was very neat, very clean; he just didn’t have the shoes on.”
Surprisingly, the boy wasn’t really alone.
When the woman found him, he was walking around with a dog. She assumed that it was the boy’s pet.
However, in reality, the two didn’t know each other.
The stray dog came up to the toddler and acted as his guardian. It didn’t leave his side even for a second.
The woman was determined to get the boy home.
She spent hours trying to find his parents. She kept walking and knocking on people’s doors but she didn’t succeed.
She shared:
“I knocked on the doors up and down the street. Knocked on the doors, no answers; no one who did answer, they didn’t recognize the child.”
Eventually, the boy’s father saw a social media post featuring him.
After seeing it, he immediately rushed to see his son. Soon after, the boy was reunited with the father.
The boy kept saying the word “puppy”.
Even though the two were together for just a couple of hours, it’s clear that they were able to create a special bond. By repeating that word over and over again, it seemed like the kid wanted to take the puppy home.
Unfortunately, that didn’t happen.
The St. Louis Police Department took the dog instead. Since then, they’ve been working hard to find a family that would love him forever.
The boy’s story earned a lot of comments.

This story shows the good side of pit bulls.
Most people fear the breed because they think that pit bulls are aggressive and shouldn’t be allowed to be near kids. However, in reality, there’s nothing wrong with the breed. They are just like most dogs who need proper training and lots of TLC to be happy, well-rounded dogs. Hopefully, this boy’s story can help change the way people think about pit bulls.
