Talk about a reunion of a lifetime.
Twin sisters Lauren Rutherford and Ashley Bo were adopted at birth over twenty years ago. And they’d only just discovered that they had another brother and sister. They are Christina Housel and Lyle James Berryman.
But get this. Christina and Lyle only found out about each other two months before Lauren and Ashley found out about them. Fate?
What a year for the siblings.
Housel and Berryman met after years of searching. The moment they met, Lyle told Christina that there were two others that they haven’t met yet. There were twins.
And here they are about to meet for the first time. Cool stuff.
The twins knock on the door and as soon as Lyle opens it, the siblings wrap each other in hugs. Hugs long due. Decades, as a matter of fact. And if you have siblings, you know how awesome it is to have them.

Even they know it. But this reunion came to fruition thanks to Christina’s efforts. She was adopted at birth. When Housel became a mom, she decided to research and find out more about her background. That’s when she found out about her bro.
Lyle held up a photo and said,
“When I saw this photo I knew that she was my sister because she looks like me.”
It was Lyle who knew their mother. She told him about his twin siblings before she died.
The search was on.
And what better way to look for long lost family than social media? Lyle and Christina posted a photo of them together on Facebook. They both held up signs stating that they just met after thirty years and that they were looking for twin girls born in Florida around May or April from 1992-1994.
The photo went viral and the power of Facebook played out. The twins saw the post and both were questioning if it was really their brother and sister. It was. Plane tickets were booked and bags were packed.
The siblings compared childhood photos on the first visit. Lauren and Ashley got to see their mom for the first time and it took a moment to sink in. Bo held back tears,
“It just kind of hits you because you are actually looking at her pictures.”
Military sibs.
Lyle was in the army where he served in Iraq, Christina joined the navy, while Ashley’s husband was in the air force. Imagine how many stories were exchanged that day. And somewhere up there, mom is crying happy tears.
And what’s a reunion without food and drinks? Lyle, Christina, Lauren, and Ashley headed down to Culinary Dropout for the good stuff, and a toast for a wonderful reunion. Cheers to family!

The siblings take more photos, this time for a new family album. One long overdue but will most definitely be filled with good times. Thirty years for Housel and Berryman, twenty for Lauren and Ashley.
Yet here they are together at last. You have to wonder what went through their heads and how those hearts felt seeing each other after decades apart.
