What if you woke up and found out that everything you knew about your family was not what it seemed?

Adrieanna Tyler thought she was living a normal life until a fateful day when she was entering her teenage life.

She was 13 years old at that time when she overheard his father talking to someone and referring to her as his “stepdaughter.”

Her entire life changed that day and since then she has promised herself one thing – to find her true father.

Tyler didn’t know where to start looking for her father.

She tried finding and tracking him down herself but it yielded no results.

Fortunately, people who were trying to reunite with their long-lost loved ones have the option to undergo a DNA test.

Then, to help her get some leads, she looked into a place that you’d least expect – Facebook.

She joined a group where strangers can ask for assistance in tracking down relatives.

A woman named Suzanne helped Tyler locate her aunt.

Kathie Johnson, who was 47 at that time, helped connect her to her biological dad.

Her father, Joseph Frank, is a 53-year-old police officer who lives in Maitland, Florida.

Finally, after years of searching, she now has the chance to meet her real father.

She said that the moment she found out that the man who raised her wasn’t her real father, she was desperate to know the truth.

But meeting her dad was not that easy.

“She said she’d put me in touch with my dad and I was suddenly ready to puke. I was so nervous – how do you just call someone and ask ‘are you my dad?’” she said in an interview with The Independent.

However, all of those feelings melted away when she found out that her father was just as excited and anxious about meeting her.

She said that one thing that scared her was if she found out that her dad didn’t want to do anything with her.

It turns out, her father didn’t know she was born.

The two finally met for the first time at a local festival near Tyler’s home.

Frank was so excited to meet his two grandchildren, Maximus and Preslee.

In turn, he said that Tyler has two other siblings, Nicole and Alyssa.

Tyler also shared that they bonded online before meeting in person.

She was thankful that they both hit it off right away.

Now, Frank and Tyler can begin the journey of mending old wounds.

“It’s been pretty amazing. God works in mysterious ways.” Frank told The Independent.

“At the time when Adrieanna came into my life, I was going through a tough breakup and I really needed that.”

“I feel like I can finally start to heal now I’m not wondering why he didn’t want me – when all this time it was because he didn’t even know I existed,” Tyler told the news outlet.

She also said that all of the things fell into place.
