Since The Kelly Clarkson Show first aired in September 2019, it has earned the appreciation of the audience for being an original, funny, and heartwarming show at the same time.
Clarkson herself has won, among others, a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host, while the show in total has won numerous awards.
Viewers from all over the country love it because it offers “an hour full of remarkable stories, celebrity guests, spontaneous surprises, humor, heart and, of course, good music”.
And, speaking of remarkable stories and surprises, this story that was presented during the first season of the show made the audience’s hearts melt and brought tears of joy to everyone involved in it.
You see, as the holiday season was approaching in 2019, Clarkson explained that it was time to give thanks for everything that we have and be surrounded by family.
So, what best way to celebrate family than bringing one together?
Guests on the show were Grace and her husband, Mike, who shared their story of finding the woman’s long-lost biological sibling.
Grace had grown up in an adoptive family, only she had no idea she was adopted.
In fact, when her husband first met her, he used to joke about how she didn’t look like any of her family members so she must have been adopted.
Some time later, Grace received a call from her aunt, who told her they had to discuss something very important.
When the two women got together, her aunt told her that, although Grace’s mother and her cousins did not agree with that decision, she had to tell her that she was adopted.
Grace’s world fell apart at that moment. Her whole life looked like a lie, but she managed to stay calm and come to terms with it.
She didn’t look for her biological parents or any siblings she might have until she faced a health issue.
As Mike explained, she started getting tired and things looked more and more serious, so they decided to track her biological family down to check if it was something she had inherited from her biological parents.
Thanks to Mike’s determination- and the fact that “he knows people” because his father used to be a police officer- they did find something.
His research was fruitful. He found Grace’s biological sister, Robin.
The two women exchanged numbers and they started talking on the phone, which to Grace sounded unreal.
“It was like talking in the mirror,” Grace said. “Because she had the same voice, the same demeanor, so I just listened to her story, how she was brought up, […] and I felt bad because I wasn’t there for her.”
Then, Grace explained that they had plans to visit Robin for the upcoming holidays, but Kelly told them they wouldn’t have to wait any longer because Robin was already there.
Indeed, moments later, the woman appeared and everyone got emotional.
Robin and Grace look so much alike, and one can tell they have so much in common and so much to share.
