Victoria Arlen was a promising athletic young girl. She was super active and with her whole life ahead of her, it was nothing but a bright future for this positive young lady.
Ad then, at the tender age of eleven, Victoria developed two rare conditions known as Transverse Myelitis and Acute Disseminated Encephalomyelitis.
She lost the ability to speak, eat, walk and move.
It was a nightmare come true for Arlen.
Victoria, like a broken computer, found parts of her body “shutting off” one by one.
Doctors said she was a lost cause, causing her mother Jacqueline to break down in tears, knowing full well there was nothing else she could do for her young daughter who was once so full of life.
Victoria was locked in her own body for four years.
She was completely aware of everything that was going on around her, except she couldn’t speak or move.
Victoria saw her mother cry and that sparked a fire in her.
Finally a medication began working and Victoria went on to recover, defying all odds and everything the doctors said.
Imagine feeling your body slowly shut down on you while you’re conscious inside.
Victoria went on to become an accomplished motivational speaker, television host and swimmer.
She has three silvers and a gold medal from the London Paralympic Games.
And as she shares her story with Megyn Kelly, the audience can’t help but be moved by the inspiring young woman talking about an ordeal so terrifying that they kept applauding her.
Victoria even makes a few jokes here and there with her story.
And as expected, online viewers had nothing but praises for Victoria.

Some call it a miracle, but Victoria comes out and says it is “God’s grace”.
Slowly but surely, she began learning how to walk again.
From a wheelchair to being assisted up, Victoria went on to join Dancing With The Stars where she quickly became a fan favorite.

Swimming was initially a form of physical therapy, but Arlen fell in love with the sport once more.
Plus she says that whenever she heard doctors say that “she can’t/won’t”, the more it pushed her to prove them wrong.
