Parents are grateful to restaurant manager who saved their toddler’s life
The Gables weren't expecting their restaurant outing at Wingstop to turn into a frightening event. Luckily, manager Jajahira Rosado was there that day.

We can never know when something we’re good at might come in handy. Therefore, it’s good to acquire as many skills as possible. Here is an example. A restaurant manager probably never dreamed that her training as a former hospital worker would save a child’s life.

2-year-old Antonio Johnson II was running around the WingStop on 1st street in Bradenton, Florida. Nothing unusual, kids do that. They are all over the place all the time. Nonetheless, little Tony fell and hit his head on a bench. If there wasn’t for a restaurant manager, Jajahira Rosado, the child’s play could have ended in tragedy in front of his family’s eyes.

Chaseedaw Gable and Antonio Johnson were on their way to church service, and they brought their children, too. The family stopped to get a quick bite before going their way.

Most people usually spend Sundays with their family, and the Johnsons were no different. The couple took their two kids, 6-year-old Azeena and 2-year-old Antonio, for a lovely day out.

Everything was perfect, the spring had almost come, and they were about to treat themselves to a nice meal. Baby Antonio was playful, just like all the kids, and he kept running around tables in the restaurant.

Mr. Johnson told FOX 13:

“He is very energetic, he can run fast… Running around, jumping, he is a happy kid.”

Suddenly, the boy fell and hit his head on the bench. The panic set in as little Antonio went limp. His parents imagined the worst-case scenario.

“It was like he didn’t have any feeling in his body,” said Johnson. “I don’t want to think about that.” Everyone was shaken, and people thought the little boy might have passed away. He was unconscious and didn’t respond to his father’s attempts to wake him up.

The cashier called 911 immediately, and you can imagine how afraid Antonio’s parents were.

Luckily, the WingStop’s manager knew exactly what to do.

Jajahia Rosado has some experience with treating various medical conditions. The brave lady is a former hospital worker. She jumped over the counter, ran towards the little boy, and did a sternum rub, a precursor to CPR.

In an interview with local news, Rosado explained that it took her around three minutes to bring the boy back to conscience.

Rosado said:

“He opened his eyes and looked at his daddy.”

To everyone’s relief, the child started moving again.

Antonio’s parents put him in the back of their car and headed towards Manatee Memorial Hospital. It was later reported that the boy had a concussion, but doctors said that he would be fine.

Rosado said she was more than happy to help because the kid’s accident nearly gave her a heart attack. “That’s the purpose of being here,” said Rosado. “We need to help each other.”

We are more than proud of this amazing woman who acted quickly and helped little Antonio.

It is essential to familiarize yourself with CPR as soon as possible.

The Johnson family ended up in a situation where it was crucial to perform CPR. Please, inform yourself about the seven steps of CPR everyone should know. We hope you’ll never need this, but let’s be prepared.

According to Red Cross, doing CPR right away can double or even triple a person’s chance of survival. Firstly, call 911, then lay the person on their back and open their airway.

Check for breathing, and perform 30 chest compressions, followed by two rescue breaths. Keep repeating the process until the ambulance arrives. Antonio Johnson II was lucky that someone knew what to do.
