If there’s one thing that people can’t stand, it’s someone being rude.
Not just annoying, mind you, but someone who is intentionally hurtful and mean, especially strangers.
We’ve all been there before – a cashier or service worker being treated poorly by an asinine customer.
Usually, the worker just bears it and grins, but occasionally, they fight back!
A recent video is a reminder that it feels GOOD to see someone get their comeuppance.
Sondra Albert is a Long Island resident who has recently gone viral after a rather heated exchange with a customer at her diner.
Albert has been working at the Massapequa Diner for 15 years and gives off classic “diner waitress vibes”.
What do we mean by that? Well, she doesn’t take any bulls***!
In a viral video, Albert is seen tossing a customer straight out of her diner.
Albert had gotten one of “those” customers and was doing her best to manage the situation.
He was being rude, but she did her best to keep a level head. Still, the customer was really getting on her nerves, as well as the nerves of everyone else around.
Finally, it was too much.
Albert said that nobody has EVER been as rude as this customer was in her entire 15 years at the diner.
The man was a regular and has behaved rudely before, but this night was too much.
Once the man started calling Albert obscene names, it was all over.
Coming up to the man, she shook her finger in his face and explained that he was not welcome anymore!
“I came from my anger of just seeing his face. It had been five weeks and I just couldn’t understand it anymore.”
She had enough! Nobody was going to treat her like that and she was going to let the man know.
In fact, the entire diner had enough! When she finally made the call to kick the man out, the entire restaurant erupted in applause.
People in the diner at the time had quite a lot of praise for Albert!
One woman, Laura Rosenburg, was at the diner. She said:
“I’ve never seen her yell like that. It was inspiring!”
Another customer, Louis Cozzolino, loved her response. He thinks she is a hero!
“She is a hero. She won’t admit to it but she is, really. Everyone’s saying she’s sticking up for all waitstaff across America.”
Soon, the video that was taken went viral on TikTok.
People all over the country thought that Albert standing up to someone who was mistreating her was heroic – we agree! Service staff has been through such a rough time and to treat them like they are less than human? It’s not right.
Since then, thousands and thousands of messages have poured in in support of her and it’s truly heartwarming. See, it looks like the internet CAN be a good thing – even if it’s only occasionally.
