He was too late to realize the package the UPS driver delivered to the porch earlier was way too heavy for him. “I was scared I was going to fall down the stairs,” Max said.

It must’ve been quite scary for a boy who weighs only 40 pounds to be trapped under a package more than twice his weight!

Marco Angel, a UPS driver literally turned out to be Max’s guardian angel on that faithful day! He later told the media he did not hesitate for a moment, explaining that his fast reaction was due to his parental instinct.

“I pictured my boys in his situation. Obviously, you go into, kind of, full parent mode or full dad mode to make sure the kid is all right.”

‘You are our angel’

Max’s mom described Marco as an angel and his dad was proud of the way ‘he flew in and helped him.

“I’m just happy that I was able to get that box off him, because the box did weigh. I [was] just hoping the little boy is all right. That’s all I want.””

No harm came to the boy during the incident. He was excited and thankful to his rescuer and is now relaxing on the contents of the package that fell on top of him, a hammock. They had a talk with Max about opening the door when no adult is around and he is sure to be more careful in the future!
