If you need a good cry, all you need to do is watch one man describe his late wife to a sketch artist. The video’s so powerful it’s been circulating the internet and leaving a trail of blubbering messes.
But just wait until the artist finally completes her work… It’s a reveal that becomes the sweetest icing on the cake.
When there’s true love in the room, you can sense it. Some people’s souls are so deeply intertwined with each other that you can feel the love radiate off of them.
The elderly man in the video had one of those types of beautiful relationships with his wife. Sadly though, she passed away after a 62-year marriage.
For an experiment, he was asked to provide a description to a sketch artist to see if she could produce a picture that resembled his late partner. He was placed in a chair with a divider between them.
Initially, the artist didn’t know who he’d be describing. But when she learned it was his wife of over six decades she asked his secret.
The widower truthfully reveals:
“Make her your friend, and never lie to her.”
For describing the shape of his wife’s face he at first calls it “angelic.” Let’s just say the artist’s heart was already melting into a puddle.
As he offered physical details for the sketch, she eventually discovered that his wife had passed on.
In regards to his true love’s eyes, he says:
“They’re sparkling, deep brown – and looked at you, her friends, me, her children, her grandchildren with great love and affection. They couldn’t be any truer.”
While the kind words make you want to grab a tissue alone, it’s how he says them that adds the greatest emotion. You can tell that he means every single word just by watching his face.
After the gentleman provided more descriptions, the artist asked, “So I take it you think that she was the most beautiful woman?”
To that he replies:
“Oh, there’s no question of that. Not just I, but anyone who met her. Inside to outside, she was the most beautiful woman I’ve ever known.”
The artist was practically in tears herself listening to the widower’s answers, which show just how much he cared for his wife.
For a description of what her smile looked like, he says:
“Like a grandmother would smile, a mother would smile, a lover would smile – it was engaging, it was welcoming, it was beautiful.”
It’s hard to envision losing a spouse, especially after that many years of love and marriage. For the elderly man, he emotionally reveals the one thing he missed the most about his late wife was “her embrace.”
Okay, someone must be chopping the biggest onion EVER in here!
Eventually, they reached a point where the artist’s portrait was complete. The moment she handed it over to the man he couldn’t help but burst into tears.
She asks if she captured his wife correctly with her sketch.” Overwhelmed by what he sees, he tells her:
“It’s beyond right, it’s beyond right. Thank you so much.”
From beginning to end, the video steals your heart. But just wait until they show a photo of his wife next to the sketch… It might just give you goosebumps.
