2020 was a tough year and all of us were tested.

The bushfires in Australia that killed a lot of wild animals, the life-long issue about racism and police violence, sudden deaths of some famous people like Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gigi, and also Hollywood actor Chadwick Boseman.

And of course, COVID19, the deadly virus that turned the world upside down.

All these are already written in the books. The year 2020 will forever be remembered. Sadly, it’s going to be remembered in a bad way.

Many families are struggling to get by and are doing anything that they can to keep their heads above water–this being the case for one family down in Louisiana.

And the three kids in that family decided that the best thing that they could do was get together and pray before school.

Three siblings, Eugene, Jorden, and Emily showed up on their first day of school with clouds of thoughts above their heads.

Things like: will their classes be canceled, will they be allowed to be close to their friends, can they expect to be in school all year?

But these unusual back-to-school questions weren’t all that they were wondering about.

Their parents had recently lost their jobs and the family’s apartment due to circumstances related to COVID-19.

So in a quiet moment of desperation and humility, the kids decide to hold hands and pray.

Their mother snapped a photo of the precious moment and it quickly went viral.

I personally can’t say that I am religious, but I sure do know the power of prayers. Together with my family, we do it as one and we pray not only for ourselves or for our families, but also for the rest of the world.

And I’ve felt the energy of an entire room of people focusing their thoughts on one particular issue.

It goes without saying that these kids wanted nothing but for things to get better not- only for them but also for the rest of the world.

There is something very powerful about multiple people coming together and focusing their energy on one particular issue that needs resolution.

Though it feels like the whole world has fallen on hard times, having a little faith can turn it all around.

This family is dealing with a lot of stress at a very difficult time. And their kids now have to carry some of the weight as well.

As kids, their only responsibility should be getting their homework done and playing games with their friends. But during these times they are forced to take on much more responsibility than they should have to.
