Just like having a child is a blessing and many people’s dream, losing a child is undoubtedly every parent’s nightmare.
Now, losing three children is just too much.
It’s really hard to figure out how someone can recover from such losses.
Cathy, an elderly lady from Salmon, Idaho, has lost three children.
Her son died in a car accident, her older daughter in a motorcycle accident, while her other daughter died from complications that followed a car accident.
But the woman has also given her own battle for her life.
She is a breast cancer survivor, and today she lives in Idaho with her husband and two granddaughters.
The woman is a pleasure to have around and, apparently, the kindest and sweetest woman you’ll ever meet.
Her sweet voice is not unfamiliar to those who have at some point visited Steele Memorial Clinic.
You see, Cathy used to be the one who helped patients book their appointments.
Today, she’s retired and she’s dedicated to raising her teenage granddaughters, while taking care of her husband who has an eye disease.
This is why she and her husband have to go back and forth to and from Idaho Falls for doctor’s appointments.
Secret Santa, a businessman from East Idaho, has been making sure over the last seven years that deserving people from his community get the help they need.
This year, one of those people was Cathy, who, along with her family, received Secret Santa’s surprise gifts.
A few days ago, Nate Eaton and his team from East Idaho News arrived at Idaho Falls, where Cathy was expected to stop by a local store and pick up something for her hairdresser.
Only, she had no idea there was nothing she really needed to pick up.
It was all arranged so that she could meet Secret Santa’s elves and get her presents.
When Cathy parked her car and was ready to get in the store with her granddaughters, Nate arrived.
He explained that there was nothing for her to pick up from the store other than early Christmas gifts.
Cathy was shocked as she was looking at Nate and listening to everything he had to say.
There were three boxes for grandma and granddaughters.
Each of them opened one and they just couldn’t believe what they saw inside them.
First, they saw a gift card for the movies, a gift car to book a hotel room, and a gift card for a restaurant.
Totally a girls’ night out!
Cathy couldn’t help hugging Nate, and she was obviously stunned by the generosity of the Secret Santa.
But this was not all.
They also got a $2,000 gift card to Fred Meyer- a store that Cathy happened to love- where the girls could buy clothes or food.
Finally, they got $5,000 for gas, which the family needs as they drive back and forth often for doctor’s appointments.
The elderly woman was speechless by the end of the video.
She was just so happy to be able to provide all these goodies to her beloved granddaughters and husband this Christmas.
