Everyone thinks their partner is “the one”.
See, love does funny things to a person.
But more often than not, it clouds judgement and throws logic out the window. So you go on expecting a lifelong commitment… and he pops the question.
Fast forward ten years later and you begin to wonder if you made the right decision.
Is he really the one?

The marriage jackpot. It’s like winning the lottery.
Let’s start with the most obvious.

1. He says “I love you”.
No, I’m not talking about when you started dating or when you exchanged vows at the altar.
I’m talking about down the road, after a decade or so.
If he still says those three words with the same passion and fire and his eyes, then you’re on the right track, girl.

2. He puts you before anyone and anything else.
Commitment. If he puts you on the top of his priority list, then you’ve got a reason to smile.
We’re talking about nights out with the guys, that expensive car he wants, or even spending hours alone watching TV.
If you are his priority, then consider yourself blessed.

3. He is still flirty and naughty with you.
Hey, he’s a man. Men are easily turned on by their eyes.
So if he still flirts with you, teases and gets raunchy, then you know you’re the only one for him.
Cast your doubts aside as to if he flirts with other women. It’s the fire that has to burn for years on.

4. He compliments you.
So if he still flirts with you, then it follows that he will still compliment you.
It could be the smallest of things like the way you did your hair, the ensemble you put on, or even your cooking.
If a man’s senses are still wired on to you, you’ve got nothing to worry about.

5. He surprises you.
When he comes home from work and hands you your favorite take out, or even flowers, then he’s probably the one.
If he cooks out of nowhere, or decides to take you on vacation, then you’ve got a great man.

6. He is very supportive and encouraging.
Just because you’re husband and wife doesn’t mean you have to give up all your hopes and dreams. I
f they’re within reason that you can make them work within the marriage bond, then he has no reason to not support you.
In fact, he should be your greatest supporter.

7. He comforts you on bad days.
But what are husband and wife but two best friends spending the rest of their lives together.
And when one is down and out, the other should be there ready to pick you up.
This is where his prioritizing of you enters the picture again.

8. He works hard.
And not just for himself, but for you and the family.
Which means that you should do the same as men do appreciate a partner, a literal partner, in life.
It is give and take after all. But if he’s too hardworking, that could be a problem…

9. He can turn the ordinary into fun.
Having a great partner means that life should feel less burdensome.
If simple acts like cleaning, driving, going to the grocery and the like can become fun because of his presence, he’s a good man.

10. He loves his mother.
Mom is the first woman in a man’s life.
If he still calls or visits her from time to time then you know he’s a keeper.
A man should care for his mom even though he’s got a life of his own.
