Many of us are lucky enough to have family and friends in our lives who love us.
But being human and all, sometimes they’re not always there for us in the way we need them to be.
Thankfully, we can turn to God for help especially during the tough times.
Not only does He love us exactly the way we are, but the power of his love can raise us up out of the darkest of situations and comfort us through difficult times.
His love is transformative.
When we feel how much we are loved, it helps us to love ourselves better.
And when we love ourselves better, we can love our neighbors better too.
It leads us to make better choices and move toward a life that will make us truly happy and fulfilled.
God can save us from fear and clears out our minds from worry overtaking our thoughts.
No matter what we’ve done, how many times we fall, or if we become forgetful to keep our eyes above.
We think they may be fulfilled with the love of another, fancy or expensive things, approval from our peers, or a great job.
God is there when we need someone to hear us out or to seek guidance from in times of trouble if we can be still enough to listen.
He shows us how to see ourselves in the loving way that he sees us.
There are a lot of different sects of Christianity and beliefs about God.
Pastor Earl Duggins recalled a time he received this grace during an Easter sermon.
Duggins said that God asked him to share this story and that spreading the message of love of God is the reason he was kept on earth after his wife passed away.
Duggins shared the story of how heartbroken he was after his wife of 59 years passed away.
Thankfully his family either stayed with him at his house or he stayed at their house during this time.
He had difficulty sleeping and would cry himself to sleep.
Duggins recalls crying and crying and crying when the Lord spoke to his soul.
He begged God to help him relieve the pain in his heart.
Duggins asked God why he was still on Earth when he and his wife wanted to leave together.
“The answer came into my heart. I left you here to do nothing more to teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ as you have for 55 years,” Duggins told his church. “So, I stand before you on this Resurrection Day to tell you Jesus Christ is alive. He has helped me. He has blessed me. He is a true living savior.”
“He lives to help us and he lives as our blessed home. Trust him today. Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and thou will be saved,” Duggins said. “Father, I thank you today for Jesus the Savior who blesses my heart, who helps me along life’s way. I want to preach that Christ loves the world.”
Duggins must have fulfilled his mission because he went to Heaven to be with his wife and God soon after he told his story.
