A park worker’s job isn’t easy. They’re responsible for keeping public parks safe and looking great all the time. They look after playgrounds, flower beds, lawns, benches, and ballfields, too.

Nevada resident Randy Turner has been working in the field for around 20 years.

He has been moving around a lot, taking care of parks. Even though he’s been a park worker for years, he still feels enthusiastic about his job.

In an interview with Fox5, Randy shared:

“I like meeting people when they come by and they like to talk and vent to you why you’re working.”

Many people who visit Stephanie Lynn Craig Park in Henderson know him by name.

One day, he noticed a park patron’s car was in the same spot for hours. It was very hot that day and the car’s windows were up. It belonged to one of his regulars.

Randy wondered why her car hadn’t moved.

The owner rarely left her car that way. Knowing that, he decided to take a closer look.

He peeked through the back window to check if the woman who owned the car was alright.

There, he found that the seats were up. He didn’t even notice any head. That made him think that there was probably no one inside the car.

He almost walked away.

However, something about the car made him take a second look. He wanted to be sure that the woman was really not there.

The car’s windows were dark so he had to put his head close to the glass to see what was inside.

There, he saw the driver laying behind the seat. He tried to get a better view and that’s when he realized that she wasn’t doing well. He called for the paramedics right away.

Fortunately, the woman was saved.

And it’s thanks to Randy’s quick thinking. If it wasn’t for him, the woman may have not survived the medical emergency.

In the same interview, Randy shared:

“It makes me feel good. I love helping people out and that’s just what I love doing. And it made me feel really good that she’s here today and she’s able to be with her family again.”

Randy had known the park patron for years.

In fact, she’d been visiting the park since he started working there three years ago. According to Randy, she’s a “really nice lady.” She sometimes hands out water and Gatorade in the summer to the homeless people.

Randy’s actions were praised by a lot of people online.

There was this YouTube user who said:

“That’s beautiful! Thank you sir for being an awesome human being and caring about your fellow human. πŸ₯° What a blessing you are!”
