As far as graduation presents go, this had to be the best one.
High school is either the best or the worst time of a young person’s life. It’s the period of many changes and discoveries, so choosing the right group of friends is also crucial for making the best memories. Those years fly by pretty quickly. Before they know it, graduation is just around the corner and suddenly, those kids begin to realize many things.
Like how much they will miss each other.
But Miranda is different. Sure she may have a lot of friends, and she may even be popular in school. But what is graduation if her family isn’t complete? This is a once in a lifetime event!
She understands though that sacrifices need to be made and not everyone gets to have the perfect graduation day.
The big day came.
Miranda and her classmates are about to embark on another journey after this ceremony. Togas and caps ready, the young men and women prepare themselves to receive their diplomas much to the delight of their beaming families.
Little did they know that a man in uniform is about to lead them in reciting The Pledge of Allegiance.
What a dashing airman!
He’s actually Miranda’s brother who came home just in time for her graduation! It’s not enough that this valiant man sacrifices so much of his life to keep everyone at home safe. He takes a break, flies back home for his sister’s graduation, just to see her happy. What a guy.
He begins,
“Good evening, everybody. Would you please join me in the Pledge of Allegiance.”
The man barely makes it across when a surprised scream can be heard from the audience. Wanna bet that was Miranda?
“I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all.”
Now everyone was reciting the pledge. Well, almost. Miranda can be seen crying out of shock and surprise at the sight of her brother standing on stage, leading the entire assembly with honor and pride.
She makes her way to the stage.
Everyone else is asked to sit but this young lady is having none of that nonsense. As she walks to the side of the stage and up the short steps, the crowd breaks into applause and cheers, moved by the wonderful reunion they’ve just realized was taking place.
Welcome back, bro!
Miranda jumps on to her brother’s arms and they embrace in front of the more than thrilled audience. That hug is them sealing all those miles they’ve spent apart. It’s brother and sister making up for lost time and finally celebrating a milestone together.

Miranda lets go for a bit and you can see her brother say something to her. She can’t help it though and grabs him for a hug once again. Tears flow, smiles break out, and everyone in attendance is just so supportive of them. And to think Miranda wore makeup!
And suddenly, all those years Miranda spent in school was so worth it. For her brother in uniform, and he wears it with pride, all that time spent deployed in different places does not compare to the pride he has in seeing his sister finish high school. Happy graduation, Miranda!
