“I’ll be home for Christmas. You can plan on me.”
Did you sing it? It’s a very popular song that gives us that warm feeling of love in the Christmas season. It’s also one of the songs that remind us of our loved ones who are far away.
Families with loved ones working overseas or who are in the military are all too familiar with this empty feeling.
Aside from missing them, you constantly worry if they are doing okay or if they are healthy and happy. It’s also very hard to celebrate holidays without them especially Christmas.
For these people, the best gift they could ask for is to be with their loved ones this Christmas.
No wonder videos about military homecomings always go viral.
Each video has a story, and anyone would be teary-eyed with these sweet reunions.
We came across three military homecoming videos that will touch anyone’s heart.
Mommy’s Santa
Travis Ruggiero is an Army Specialist in Afghanistan. He decided to surprise his mother when he came home early to spend Christmas at home.
He found the perfect opportunity as he disguised himself as Santa at his mom’s Christmas party in Ocean Medical Center in Brick, NJ.
The video with more than 4M views starts as we see Santa sitting down watching as the host asks for Leslie, Travis’ mom, to go on stage.
There, the host gives Leslie a big card.
The maternity nurse enthusiastically opens the card, and she became teary-eyed as she read what’s on the card. She also shared with everyone that it’s from her baby.
While she was busy, Santa got up and began removing his beard, wig, and hat, revealing who he was!
Leslie then recognized a familiar voice, and she hurriedly turns around.
She bursts into tears as she hugs her son. Seeing how big Travis is, he still looks like a little kid who misses his mother.
Daddy’s home
Sgt. Campbell decided to surprise his lovely daughter in her school after being deployed for 13 long months. The sweet father was wearing his uniform and was holding a smiley balloon and a bouquet.
The kids were having lunch when the school admin announced that they have a special guest. The little girl was listening attentively. It’s as if she knew that it was her dad.
The little girl jumps and runs to the man in uniform. It was her dad! This sweet reunion went viral and got more than 11M views and we know why.
There’s nothing sweeter than a father who treasures his daughter.
This young marine was able to go back home after being deployed to spend Christmas with his family. He kept this a secret so he would be able to surprise his family.
It was morning, and we see this young soldier walk to the door, and then he knocks. We then hear the dogs getting all excited, and after a while, an old woman opens the door and screams.
She saw her son, and he was home.
The heartwarming video with more than 7M views touched so many hearts.
For a mother, no matter how old your kids are, they will always be your babies. Always. We’re pretty sure it was the best gift she received that Christmas.
