In the age of the internet, people record themselves performing certain actions and then dare others to repeat them online.

This is what do we call an internet challenge. And these stunts range from simple and harmless things to downright dangerous ones.

There is the silly “planking challenge” where you plank in an unusual or incongruous place, and the helpful “ice bucket challenge” which promotes awareness of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis disease and encourages donations for the research funds. There’s also the stupid “cinnamon challenge,” where you eat a spoonful of ground cinnamon in under 60 seconds without drinking anything.

And one of the latest internet fads is the “whisper challenge.”

In this challenge, players listen to loud music or noise-canceling headphones if they have the budget to provide one, while another player quietly says a phrase while their friend tries to read their lips. If you think this is dull, I dare you to think again. People who have tried this game or watched a video about this challenge knows it has potential for hilarity.

However, this challenge now comes with a twist. It is now becoming the coolest new way to announce pregnancies to grandparents and great-grandparents. Just like how people execute extravagant tricks for the baby’s gender reveal!

This challenge originated from a game on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

Combining the sharing of happy news with a game invented by the show’s writers is a great way to have a little fun while also making sure that the elderly people you love get their few minutes of internet fame when their videos go viral. And this soon-to-be grandfather is no exception.

The gang consists of the future parents of the child and the grandfather, all gathered at a table.

The grandfather is cool enough to participate in the game.

Usually, parents refuse to be part of any games because they believe they are too old for that or mature people don’t do silly things.

Just a few seconds after the game started, he already guesses that the phrase is about being a father, which made the couple in front of him make a nervous laugh.

The old man seems too good at lip-reading the game might end quickly, huh? And it proves to be easier when he keeps getting the right words one after the other, consecutively. Gramps is indeed a pro in this game!

Just when he is about to get the correct phrase, however, he is struggling with a single word.

But even if he keeps getting the incorrect answer, he didn’t kill the fun by quitting.

He continues to humor his children with his antics as he tries his best to decipher the code. He is really determined to win this game.

In the midst of the guessing game, he even makes fun of his son’s tongue, mimicking a snake flicking its tongue out. He insists that it is the reason he keeps missing the right word.

In the end, he gets the correct answer—and he was never happier!

The expectant grandfather is so elated with the news that he can’t help but hug his children for such wonderful news.

Tears start to well up in his eyes as he lets this great revelation sink in. The joy of having a new addition to your growing family is indeed a perfect reason to celebrate.
