We’re not going to lie, getting your hair done or your nails done is a great time. It feels like a little treat — maybe it’s not something you can do every day but when you do finally do it, you come out feeling like a brand new person.
For some women, these beauty makeovers can lead to full-on transformations. Sometimes, you can even say that it ends up being about way more than just a new hair color, but something much deeper than that.
Monaya is a woman who was looking for a new beginning, so she turned to Christopher Hopkin’s Makeover Guy’s Appearance Studios for just that.
She finally arrived with her wonderful husband by her side, ready for a massive change that would send emotions soaring high. For the last 30 years, she’d been dying her hair brown to cover up her white hair. But why not have a little bit more confidence?
When the Makeover Guy team had their consultation with Monaya, she explained that she had been feeling a bit “blah” over the last few years.
So she wanted to “feel fun and more… different.”
“This is love. Monaya had grown out her white hair that she has colored to dark brown for over 30 years. I loved her natural color so this is what happened,” Christopher said.
After she got her new look, Monaya was happy to have finally “gotten rid of that witch hair” (her words, not ours!). She went on to say, “It’s a nice change.”
Obviously, Monaya loved it and was thrilled to not only fix her roots, but spice up her overall look. It injected a little bit of that excitement that she was so desperately craving in her life.
But when we take a look at her husband’s reaction to her new makeover, that is when the whole thing turns into a surprisingly emotional ordeal.
“You look so beautiful,” her husband says after taking a look.
A hilarious couple egging each other on.
“I kinda had this look in mind, to be honest,” her husband shared with the team. “I think she’s gonna be much more comfortable and it makes her look –” then he cut himself off and hesitated for a second. That’s when Monaya hilariously chimed in, “Sexy? Come on, say it!”
Thankfully, her husband did not leave her hanging. He agreed with her immediately, as good husbands do.
“You look sexy and sophisticated,” he said.
Monaya goes on to say that she had a feeling he would like it, before the two begin reminiscing about the good old high school days. “So now we just need a Ramones t-shirt and a short black mini-skirt,” her husband added.
Apparently, back in those days, Monaya’s hair was the same length which is too funny.
In case you don’t already know, this is not Christopher Hopkins’ first makeover. In fact, he has probably done hundreds if not thousands by this point.
We guess you could say he’s a hair stylist or… A magical wizard.
Based in Minnesota, Hopkins grants women (both local and national) with life-changing, dream-worthy makeovers. A lot of them are major changes, so he is really bringing good change to their lives. A lot of times they will come out of the salon looking like a completely different person, but just as beautiful!
He’s truly a professional who can see what kind of cut and color would flatter a person. He’s also great at making sure their best features — like their eyes or cheekbones — are nicely framed.
