We could all use a little push sometimes, and for one mom from Wisconsin – she was talked into getting a makeover!
Carol was turning the big 7-0 and her daughters thought it’d be fun if she celebrated her special day with a trip to the salon. But not just any salon… The Makeover Guy’s salon in Minneapolis, Minnesota! Although Carol didn’t know who The Makeover Guy (aka Christopher Hopkins) was at first – it turned into an experience she’ll never forget.
As a parent, you’ll do anything in the world to help your kids feel good about themselves. And when they get older, oftentimes they’ll do the same for you.
Carol explains in the video that her two daughters are always trying to help “improve” her and her husband. While she doesn’t say exactly what this entails – if it means a trip to The Makeover Guy’s salon, yes, please! She explains:
“I think what my girls wanted was somebody to look at me in a different way.”

The 70-year-old (really, 70?) has been married to her college sweetheart for nearly 48 years. When it comes to her hair, well, she’s worn it the same way since that time and enjoys having longer hair so she can pull it back.
Like many others, Carol has been dyeing her hair since she was in her 40s.
Her natural color is actually dark brown, but one of her daughters was trying to convince her to go all-gray. As we know though – that’s not an easy move for everyone!
Believe it or not, Carol hadn’t heard of The Makeover Guy until her daughters brought up the idea.
Christopher Hopkins is a famous stylist who’s been changing lives with his jaw-dropping makeovers for the last several decades (no wonder he’s called The Makeover Guy!). He’s also a best-selling author, entrepreneur, entertainer, and internet sensation. Christopher has more than 213K subscribers to his YouTube channel where he uploads videos that leave fans feeling uplifted and inspired.
On the MAKEOVERGUY Appearance Studio website, it says:

Women around the world dream of getting one of Christopher Hopkin’s life-changing makeovers. So the fact that Carol’s daughters brought her to his salon was a really amazing birthday gift!
In the end, Carol turns out absolutely stunning.
When she looks in the mirror and sees her brand new hair color, style, and glamorous makeup she can’t help but say “whoa.” The best part though is when she reveals her appearance to her family.
Carol walks out and her family is completely blown away (which has gotta make a girl feel good!).
The expressions on their faces are just priceless as they take in her fabulous new look.
