Don’t mess with Judge Judy. She won’t tolerate any drama, won’t have any nonsense, and in her courtroom, what she says is definitely the law. Judy Sheindlin is the kind of woman who can make men move just by a stare.
But she can also melt hearts with her decisions. Judge Judy can see right through anyone in her courtroom.
No doggone case is too crazy for Judy.
A man and a woman appeared in court arguing over who owned a particular dog. The man says that he is the rightful owner of the woman’s dog. To which she denied, of course. She claims the dog is hers.
The story goes as such.
The man’s dog ran away from home one day. The dog’s name is Baby Boy and looks exactly like the dog the woman owns. She says she paid $50 for the dog in front of a local mall. The dog was supposed to be for her mother.
Our plaintiff wants his white dog back. He even had pictures to prove that it was indeed Baby Boy.
It is a court hearing and what’s a courtroom drama without a little back and forth. The defendant claims that it’s a different dog even showing Judge Judy paperwork from her vet saying it’s a five year old mixed breed.
“The question is, is this his dog? Your vet can’t tell you how old the dog is.”
Judge Judy goes on saying that a vet could tell her if it was a puppy but not the exact age.
Judy does not care about the paperwork.
She already knew how to solve the case. It was brewing in her head during the proceedings. Judge Judy tells the defendant’s friend to bring in the dog in question. Might be the first time you’ll hear a collective “Awww” in a courtroom.
Look at the man’s face. He has that smile only dog owners recognize.
And the dog? Baby Boy looks around, alert and attentive, but look closely as he stares at the man smiling at him. The plaintiff starts calling out to the dog with obvious joy on his face.
“Hey, boy! Hey, Baby Boy! Hey man!”
Everyone present in that room knew what was coming next.
Judge Judy calls out to the woman carrying the dog and tells her to put him down. The moment she does, Baby Boy bolts towards the man, jumping and wagging on his leg. He is adorable!
Judge Judy puts the icing on the cake, telling the man to pick the dog up and as he does, the dog embraces his human with doggy kisses. That man would have broken down in tears had it not been for all those people.
“That’s all. Take the dog home.”
Says Judge Judy as she stands.
No long speeches with complicated terms only lawyers would understand. All it took was common sense and logic, which the incomparable Judge Judy exercised. And in the end, the man was reunited with his best friend. Case dismissed.
