Losing a friend, a parent, or any person close to your heart always leaves a hole in your heart. It really doesn’t go away.

The memories you share remain, and sometimes, you find yourself crying because you miss this person.

We all deal with grief differently, too.

Have you ever thought about leaving too? Shay Bradley, a father of four, thought about that years before.

Bradley had been battling cancer for many years, and finally, he wanted the treatment to stop. He knew the end was near and just wanted to spend the remaining time with his loved ones.

Like many people who were in the same situation, Bradley had a dying wish.

Though, it’s not what we all think. The military brother and veteran colleague wanted to do one last thing for his beloved family and friends.

Bradley wanted to shock his family and friends by playing a pre-recorded message from the grave.

Most people would feel dread because the end was near, but not Bradley. He already thought of the people’s reaction once his recording played on his grave.

Deep inside, Bradley’s wish was to leave the people he loves with laughter and not the pain of losing him.

In the video, we see all of Bradley’s family members and friends gathered on his grave. They were all crying and silently grieving.

We then hear the music of bagpipes slowly fading and then stopping. Then we hear a voice that says, “Hello?”

Everyone was shocked! Who wouldn’t be?

We then hear Bradley knocking on his coffin and then he says, “Let me out, it’s dark in here”.

Some people laughed, some were still stunned, but then everyone understood what was happening.

“Let me out. Is that the priest I can hear?”

Later in the video, Bradley sings, “I called to say goodbye” to the people gathered.

Even in death, Bradley was hilarious. Everyone was laughing, and somewhere, maybe, he was watching his last successful prank. This man was loved by so many, and now that his last prank went viral, more people loved him.

“My dad was absolutely crazy. That would have been his ideal reaction from the trick. He was always a prankster and joking with everyone, he was a real jovial character,” Bradley’s daughter, Andrea, told in her interview with Dublin Live.

Everyone was curious. When did Bradley do this?

According to Andrea, the message was kept secret from everyone. Only Bradley, Andrea, and her brother, Jonathan knew about the recording that was over a year old.

“So my oldest brother called over to the house for tea one day. They were having the craic and joking, and my dad just said ‘put your phone on the table and start recording’.

It only took Bradley one take to get the recording done. It only means one thing, he’s a pro when it comes to playing pranks, and Andrea even says so.

Bradley was a fighter and it showed in his battle with cancer.

Even in his last few years of life, he wanted the people that he would leave behind, the people he treasured, to be laughing and he did well.

He really did.
