Andrew then noticed that there was a note slipped under the windshield wiper.

The note had obviously been written by a child. But luckily, it told Andrew all he needed to know about the incident.

The note was titled “If your wondering what happen to your car.”

The child then wrote the precise details of the bus and further information of exactly what happened to cause the dent.

And just to make things even better, the child said sorry and drew a detailed sketch of what the bus that hit the car looked like. And peering out of one of the windows was a self-portrait of herself as a passenger, shocked to see the crash.

Thanks to this note, Andrew got into contact with the bus company. The company agreed to pay for the car repair and to hold the rogue driver accountable.

Andrew then posted the note and the car dent to Twitter, where it soon went viral. To date, it has gained over 1.1 million likes. It also has more than 235,000 retweets and 3,900 comments.

The next day, Andrew posted an update to the original tweet.

He stated that he had identified the child who wrote the note and he was working on giving her a well-earned reward.

It turns out that the child who wrote the note was sixth-grader Zaire Griffin.

Steve Hartman covered the story in a segment of “On the Road.” Zaire explained that her mother always says that if she sees someone doing the wrong thing, then she has to do the right thing.

But Zaire’s mom herself was amazed at her daughter’s dedication. She was there when the bus knocked into Andrew’s car.

She was worried that if she and Zaire stuck around, then people would think that she had caused the dent. Luckily, Zaire knew better.

“My daughter taught me how to stay kind, stay compassionate, always knowing the right thing is always the right thing.” – Zaire’s mom talking to CBS Evening News.

He also told CBS Evening News that he would remember Zaire’s honesty and integrity for the rest of his life.
