What is there not to love about dogs?

Whether they’re working dogs or pets, they know how to add sunshine to people’s lives and devote their years to providing companionship and security. Moreover, they’re extremely intelligent too, and highly trainable. While each breed has fields where experts feel they will excel most in, dogs are generally great for jobs like herding, therapy pets, bomb-sniffing canines, security dogs, and more.
With so many endearing qualities, it’s no surprise dogs are the top pick for pets.
As if we needed to be reminded of how heartwarming it is to love a dog and be loved by one back, here’s a sweet reunion between a man and his furbaby.
Apparently, the dog got lost and went missing for three years.
Imagine how heartbreaking that must have been for the man when he first discovered his best friend was gone. Not only that, it must have been difficult to end each day with disappointment, worry, and sadness at not knowing of your pet’s whereabouts – and if she was safe.
Despite going three long years without his pet, the man still didn’t give up the search.
That’s how much his dog meant to him. Despite having no leads, he kept on looking for her and refused to believe she wasn’t coming back.
There’s no telling exactly what all the missing dog went through in those three years, but the video clearly shows how much they missed each other.
Because they spent years apart, the dog didn’t recognize her dad at first.
Staff from the animal shelter held the dog on the leash as it eyed the man warily and sniffed around him cautiously.
The man patiently waited as he remained crouched on the ground, smiling at the dog and anticipating the moment she would finally recognize him. After circling around him and doing a bit more sniffing, something must have clicked because the dog started wagging.
It was finally coming back to her – this was her dad!
She wagged her tail faster and approached him, excited to once again shower him with sloppy kisses.
Those who were lucky enough to witness the stirring reunion couldn’t help but remark on how happy the dog suddenly was as it jumped up and down and licked the man’s face eagerly. There was gushing all around as the dog continued to show affection to her dad. “Aww, she’s so cute! Look at her! They’re so happy!”
And the man, overcome with joy at being reunited with his pet again, could only murmur, “Oh, my love,” as he held her close.
It was a happy day for the two as they finally reunited after three years.
It’s fortunate that the animal shelter took her in as she wandered from home. At least the happy dad would always have the peace of mind of knowing his best friend was in great care the entire time they were separated from each other.
Surely the volunteers at the shelter took good care of the man’s dog – but nothing compares to being at home with your loved ones. Hopefully, that’s where she stays from now on.
