Last December, the Canadian pop sensation, aged 55, revealed her decision to cancel the 2023 dates of her Courage World Tour due to a diagnosis of a rare neurological condition that leads to severe muscle rigidity and bodily spasms.

Her sister is shedding light on the unwavering commitment of the “My Heart Will Go On” vocalist towards her recovery.

“When I call and Céline is busy, I talk to my sister Linda, who lives with her, and who tells me she’s working hard,” Claudette said to Le Journal de Montréal translated from French. “She listens as much as possible to the great researchers of this rare disease.”

She went on to say that what Celine needs most of all is rest.

The singer was diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome just six months ago.

“We can’t find any medicine that works, but having hope is important,” Claudette confessed.

Claudette says her sister is “really determined” despite the difficulties from the rare neurological disorder.

Stiff Person Syndrome causes uncontrollable muscle spasms that can lead to other health problems.

Celine had mentioned before that it’s even affecting her ability to sing because she “can’t use my voice the way I used to.”

In late May, the singer of “Because You Loved Me” shared that she had to cancel the rest of her Courage World Tour because of her challenges with the condition.

She expressed her regret for not being able to continue the tour, and her fans showed understanding and encouragement in the comments on Instagram, expressing their desire for her to prioritize her well-being.

Celine is a strong woman.

Claudette expressed their confidence in her, saying, “We have faith in her. She possesses inner strength and determination in all aspects of her life.”
