The only thing 3-year-old Zakharia loves more than CoComelon is her father, Alabama National Guard soldier Pvt 2nd. Class Keven Fuqua.
“She just loves CoComelon. The only way she’ll be quiet is to watch CoComelon. If she gets the remote in her hand or on the phone or YouTube or anything, it’s gotta be CoComelon,” Fuqua told Militarykind.
So, he figured that CoComelon was the perfect way to disguise himself during a surprise homecoming.
CoComelon is a children’s YouTube show that children absolutely love.
Some parents are of a different opinion and say the show is overstimulating, causes tantrums, and is highly addictive.
Whether that’s the case or not, CoComelon is becoming a phenomenon that children like Zakharia love!
Zakharia ran over to CoComelon the minute she saw the costumed character walk through the door.
“Everyone is like look Zakharia CoComelon! She looks I see her looking at my costume she runs up to me and gave me a hug,” Fuqua explained.
The family was hosting the girl’s birthday and dad wanted to make it special.
No matter how uncomfortable that costume was.
“I’m just sweating in this costume. I was actually supposed to stay in there for longer until they opened up presents up but I just couldn’t do that any longer,” Fuqua said.
“And she just gave me a hug. Cause I’m like, I’m trying to hold back the tears and everything. Just like, I can’t take this anymore. It’s just so emotional. So I just took off the helmet and she looked at me and said, ‘Daddy,'” Fuqua said.
Fuqua posed for a few photos with his daughter.
As soon as her dad took that big CoComelon head off, Zakharia gave him a big ole’ hug.
“Oh, she’s glad to see her daddy,” a woman says off camera.
Zaharia and her 8-year-old brother Zayden hadn’t seen their father in four months and weren’t able to attend his basic combat training graduation.
“It was hard. Four months, it was hard. I can just imagine being gone for a year. Just four months was hard for me,” Fuqua said.
“My son, he’s very proud of me. Cause, like I said, the day I graduate, his whole school got to watch the graduation on a big screen TV.”
Both Zakhira and Zayden are very proud of their father who says he intends to make a career out of his military service.
He hopes that he can serve for at least 20 years before retiring.
More than 4,000 people have watched the video of Fuqua’s happy homecoming for his daughter’s birthday.
“Awww I love seeing a daddy’s girl loving on her father! 🤍🥺” one YouTube commenter wrote.
“Your family, friends, and your children are extremely proud of you, and never forget that!!! Stay safe and blessed,” said another.
