The women reminded Andy of his late mother, so he paid for their meals. But he felt a strong urge to talk with them. The connection he found had him walking away in tears.

Losing a loved one is never easy.

And while the person is always in your heart – there are some days where they’re especially on your mind.

Musician Andy Grammer knows what it’s like to lose someone who was a huge part of his world. His mother, Kathy, sadly passed away back in 2009 and he misses her very much so.

One day, Grammer decided to grab some breakfast at the Sea Ketch eatery in Hampton Beach, New Hampshire.

While eating his meal, the singer couldn’t help but notice a table of five “SUPER CUTE” elderly women on the other side of the restaurant. There was something about them that got him thinking about his own mother.

Grammer was so full of emotion that he decided he wanted to do a kind act for the ladies. In a Facebook post, he explained:

“I don’t know why but it made me miss my mom hard and I felt a strong urge to pick up their check. I don’t know them and didn’t want to bother them but I just did it.”

Grammer secretly paid their check with a plan to stay anonymous about it.

But instead of leaving, Grammer felt compelled to talk to the women, and share that he missed his mom.

“So I walked over and said ‘you are five of the sweetest ladies I’ve ever seen, I lost my mom awhile back and something about seeing you made me miss her this morning so I’m getting your check.'”

Little did he know, it was a kind gesture that had a special meaning to one of the women.

Mary C. was part of the group at the restaurant. Turns out, she too experienced a big heartbreak after her 40-year-old son passed away in 2012.

Grammer wrote on Facebook:

“The lady on the end popped up with arms wide open and said ‘COME HERE, I lost my son and really needed this.’ And then she gave me a mom hug I needed and I gave her a son hug she needed.”

He concluded his post by saying:

“We are all so connected. #imnotcryingyourecrying #cryingwithstrangers #shoutouttothemysticalmothersonbond”

The musician’s post went viral and touched hearts all across the internet.

Many people have left comments, including Mary herself. She expressed her gratitude to Grammer and shared “who” exactly she believes sent him to their table that day:

“Margaret, Betty Anne, Joan, Beth & I send our sincere appreciation to your for treating us to breakfast today at the Sea Ketch at Hampton Beach, NH Sending you lots of hugs. Your Mom sent you to us today. ❤”

“Yes we are all connected! My father always reminds me to say the things on your heart to others because you never know if it would be the gift they need at that moment. Glad you listened to your instincts! 🌎 ❤️”

Was sitting at breakfast in Hampton Beach and across the restaurant were five SUPER CUTE elderly ladies. I don’t know…
