Just like in every job out there, there are nice cops and not-so-good ones. One thing is for sure, officers can be fun, too. They’re not grumpy all the time, they don’t have to pretend to be too serious to be respected.
And these two officers from Anniston Police Department, Alabama, prove cops can have some fun and also make others laugh.
The chief is the first one who starts the video. However, he’s made a mistake- just like “older dudes” often do. His face is not in the video, and all we can see is his forehead and the ceiling.
Still, without noticing, the chief starts talking to the camera, when one of his officers interrupts him.
“Chief, you don’t hold the phone like that! They can’t see you! Stop!”
The chief seems confused. He has no idea why what he’s doing is wrong, but he turns off the camera.
Then another clip starts, this time showing the chief sitting in his office and looking straight at the camera. Nothing can go wrong, right?
Well, this time it’s grammar. The man says “we decided to get on the TikTok”, but officer Jake Ford seems to have an objection to the use of the article.
“Chief, you don’t say “the” it’s just TikTok,” Jake says. But the chief has a valid point to justify the use of the article: “It’s THE internet! I was around when the Internet was invented, you weren’t there Jake!”
Well, who can contradict that argument?
The third attempt starts, and we can see the chief having a filter on. A pretty funny one, indeed. But it seems that Jake does not agree with the use of filters either.
“Chief is that a filter? You don’t use a filter for this.” And then he adds “Chief, you look like an idiot!”
That’s it. The chief is done with all the TikTok thing, he doesn’t want to try anymore, and he gets the officer to record a video instead.
In the last clip, officer Ford explains that they have created this TikTok account in order to reach out to the local community. They plan on uploading funny, upbeat videos, but they are also going to give insight into the day-to-day life of officers.
Once the officer is done, the chief takes the chance to tell him that this was exactly what he said earlier.
The video ended there, and only hours later it started getting so many views that officers at the Anniston PD were left speechless.
Today, having amassed almost 100k likes, it’s a viral video that the TikTok community has loved.
People appreciated that the officers posted something funny, and it is obvious that they want to see more content coming.
“Old vs young generation!! too funny!!” someone wrote, while others asked for the chief to take control.
What a nice break from all the negativity these days are bringing with them.
