Talk about a reunion a lifetime in the making. Brother and sister Clifford Boyson and Betty Billadeau spent 65 years separated from each other but were finally reunited in surprising fashion thanks to a little boy. Both siblings went to separate homes when Betty was just 5 years old and Clifford was 3. The toddlers never knew how to contact each other, not knowing if they’d ever find each other again.

After their childhood, both Clifford and Betty did their best efforts to find each other again, and never gave up. The two looked for decades but no one was able to help them out. Clifford sent dozens of letters over the years, but it was heartbreaking for him to see that they were all labeled with “return to sender.”

Despite many years of trying, no authorities were willing to help. But a seven-year-old boy who knows his way around computers felt like that needed to change.

The second-grader Eddie is the son of Clifford’s landlord, and thanks to his online detective work, brother and sister could finally reunite after such a long time apart.

“Nobody would help me until I came and met little Eddie,” Clifford said.

Eddie had noticed that Clifford often felt lonely and had no one to spend time with.

He heard about the story of him and his sister getting separated, and that’s when he decided to help the man out.

“Family is important,” the little boy proudly says.

Eddie used his mom’s Facebook account and started looking for profiles and connections. He simply typed in Clifford’s last name and was able to identify his sister thanks to some old pictures he found of the both of them.

“I went on Facebook and I typed in Boyson,” Eddie said. “There were a whole bunch of pictures that showed up. One of them kind of looked like Clifford and I zoomed in on it and it started to really look like Clifford, I showed it to my mom and dad.”

Without hesitation, Eddie’s dad did everything he could to make the reunion possible. He contacted Betty’s daughter via Facebook and the reunion was finally set.

For the first time in more than 65 heartbreaking years, Clifford and Betty finally reunited in Clifford’s home town of Davenport, Iowa.

A seven-year-old boy helped Clifford when no one else would and it led to this beautiful reunion. Clifford and Betty are planning to catch up in Missouri soon, and because Eddie has never been on vacation, Clifford wants to take him to Disney World as a big “thank you” for his efforts.
