Meet adorable little Harper Buckley. Well “little” is an understatement seeing as this baby is huge. Naturally, people and the media began featuring the larger than life child.
It’s not often a baby of this size comes into our world.
Rewind to the eighties when one such baby made headlines. And continues to do so today.
Let’s meet this man who gave the stork an intense workout.
Patricia Clarke was only 23-years-old back in 1982. She became pregnant, and even though she knew her child would probably be a little bigger than usual, she just didn’t think he’d be massive.
Clarke gave birth on April 8, 1983 to a son, and the baby boy was a giant bundle of joy because of his size.
Kevin Robert Clarke entered this world weighing in at an astounding 16 pounds, 6 ounces. He was born in Toms River, New Jersey.
Kevin was thought to have been the biggest baby to be born in the state. At least at the time.
As you can imagine, the media could not get enough of the child.
Kevin Clarke was thrown into the limelight. He was a big baby who came with a few disadvantages.
Kevin’s mom, Patricia, tried her best to deal with those “problems”.
Kevin could neither fit into a standard-sized crib nor could she find baby clothes that were his size.
By the age of 12, Kevin was already 5 foot 7.
When he was just a junior in high school, he stood 6 foot 7.
Kevin towered over everyone so naturally, people thought he would go into sports, maybe play basketball or football.
But Kevin had no passion for sports.
He signed up to join the air force, becoming a military police officer in Texas.
Kevin was usually mistaken for an officer in charge because of his impressive size.
All that attention growing up, and even today, must have been hard to deal with.
But Kevin says he’s gotten used to it.
The towering Clarke is now 38. He weighs in at 300 pounds and stands at 6 ft 9 inches tall.
He is definitely always the tallest man in the room since he never joined the NBA
Kevin wears a size 17 shoe. Those shoes are custom made to fit so it didn’t make things easier for him.
And it’s not easy shopping for a car either. Perhaps a full size SUV?
He really should think about professional wrestling.
Kevin now lives in North Carolina with his wife, Jenna.
She’s not exactly short either. Jenna is an impressive 6 feet tall herself.
The couple also has a dog who, as expected, is a large canine too.
As for baby Harper, Kevin had some advice.
He says that baby Harper, born 15 pounds 5 ounces, should just get comfortable with her size since it’s a part of who she is.
And with a size advantage, the future looks extra bright for baby Harper.
Who knows, they might meet someday.
