It’s great to see that young people are still gravitating towards musical instruments. And they’re giving music their own twist by taking classical instruments to play modern music.

Take Karolina Protsenko, for example.

She’s a violinist who integrates modern music AND movement into her performances – and they are addictive to watch!

Protsenko is 11 years old and she has managed to make non-fans a fan of violin music. They may not recognize what she’s playing but they recognize good talent.

And Karolina possesses great musical talent!

That’s why this amazing young violinist has built a fanbase of more than 5 million followers on YouTube and 8 million followers on Facebook. And that’s in about 3 years!

People found out about her amazing musical skills with the violin when she began busking in Santa Monica, CA in the summer of 2017.

Karolina would park herself at the Third Street Promenade and serenade the people hanging out or passing by. People are amazed at her wonderful talent and the fact that she’s only 11 years old!

“Omg, I’m blown away. This is what real talent can do. It reaches into your heart and pulls out every hidden emotion. Music is so powerful. And it takes you back to a time and place in your life in your heart,” Scott Ward remarked in her first busking video on YouTube.

Karolina was born in Ukraine in 2008 and when she was 7 years old, she and her parents migrated to the US. Her parents are also musicians and they play the guitar and piano.

Karolina definitely had music in her blood!

We wonder if her three-year-old brother will also gravitate towards a musical life.

But they probably won’t know until he’s a few years older. After all, it wasn’t until Karolina was six when she picked up a violin.

Karolina loved playing the violin and wouldn’t put it down.

By the time she was 10 years old, she had mastered the notes and started to perform in public. Although she started busking in 2017, she didn’t start her YouTube channel until the next year. And her first video (she played Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect”) has received more than 3 million views since then.

In fact, her videos have been consistently getting hundreds of thousands of views for each video. And she’s even gotten millions of views for some!

Her cover of Billie Eilish’s Bad Guy has received 16 million views. Her cover of Despacito has been viewed more than 25 million times. And her cover of Señorita by Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello has been watched more than 40 million times.

Not bad for a “street busker!”

One of Karolina’s dreams is to travel the world playing the violin. But since we’re in a pandemic and on lockdown, she’ll have to travel the world and entertain people with her music through her Facebook and YouTube accounts.

And because, of her wonderful talent, she has been collaborating and playing with other musicians. AND she has been producing her own music video covers. She loves to play for people so much, she won’t let the lockdown slow her down.

This video cover of “Unchained Melody” by The Righteous Brothers is such a soothing and relaxing performance. It’s guaranteed to put a smile on your face.

And her viewers agree.

“Music has the God-created power to bypass the mind and go straight to the heart and soul. It reaches places deep inside of us that nothing else on the earth can do. It most certainly is the case with the beautiful girl. Her music touches my soul and brings me peace and well being,” James Hart clearly described what most of us feel after watching her video.

“She plays and dances into our souls, and escorts us into Heaven and we’re blessed beyond words,” Ronald Hoennicke described his feelings poetically.

And there are viewers who have left touching messages to Karolina in her video.

“I love this song for deep reasons. Because of you, dear Karolina, I don’t need words to fall in love to your violin version. Your talent is enormous and heart-warming, the scenery behind is out of this world as are you for sure. Watching this video is like watching a moving painting of best beauty in all soul of art. Thank you for being the best of you always, Karolina,” Tina Koskima wrote.
