11-Year-Old’s Best Man Speech Has Guests In Laughter
This was so funny I had to watch it again. :)

When you attend a wedding reception you can typically count on a few things – cake, dancing, and memorable speeches (not in that order). There’s a good chance you’re gonna need some tissues for those speeches, as many times best friends and loved ones pour their hearts out. On the other hand – sometimes they can be hilarious too!

During one couple’s reception, the groom’s 11-year-old nephew took the floor to give his best man speech. Now, some might wonder how well a kid would do with such a big task. But what he prepared turned out so funny that he had everyone rolling in their seats.

The bride and groom are never going to forget this speech.

Bill and Mary are the newlyweds in the video and they are sitting down at their lovely reception. The best man is usually the one to kick off the speeches – so all eyes are on Bill’s tween nephew R.J.

He begins with some kind words showing his appreciation:

“I would like to thank you all for coming to this wedding. I would also like to thank Bill and Mary for hosting this wedding. Special thanks to Bill for inviting me to be his best man.”

Aww, nice job, kid!

R.J. then shifts gears and it quickly gets hysterical.

Not everyone can comfortably speak in front of a crowd. In fact, it’s pretty easy to tell when someone’s extremely nervous by their voice and appearance. Let’s just say this 11-year-old is meant for the spotlight.

He tells everyone:

“Me and Bill, we go back a long time. 11 years…pretty much my whole life.”

The jokes are just getting started.

A bride might not want to hear about the groom’s ex-girlfriends at her wedding. But in this case, it’s pretty funny listening to R.J. spill the beans.

He shares:

“You know, we used to live in Iowa and every year he would come around to visit…with a new girlfriend. Sometimes two.”

Apparently, Bill used to turn to his nephew for dating advice.

The best man continues:

“He would ask me for advice. Usually I would say, ‘Kick ’em to the curb!'”

Not only is R.J.’s material comical, but his delivery is spot-on as well. He has the entire tent cracking up throughout his speech (which isn’t the easiest thing to do).

But enough about Bill’s ex-girlfriends, what about Mary?

R.J.’s speech then focuses on the beautiful bride and he explains:

“But you know, when Mary came she was different – she seemed normal. So I said, ‘Go for it!’ And I’m happy you listened to my advice.”

Even the newlyweds’ sides were splitting, which is all that really matters.

Every wedding speech needs a good closing and R.J. doesn’t disappoint.

He hilariously tells his Uncle Bill:

“I leave you with this one final thought…stop asking me for advice. I’m 11-years-old! Congratulations.”

R.J. does such a phenomenal job that he receives a standing ovation from some of the guests. Seriously, this kid is going to be a stand-up comic someday!

According to the Martha Stewart Weddings website, a good tip for planning a reception toast is to “keep it short” to avoid guests losing interest (three minutes or less). R.J.’s speech is just over two minutes of pure awesomeness, perhaps why it has more than 27K “likes” on YouTube.
