“When I came in I was 62 years old and I feel 30 years younger!”

Linda spent too many years of her life not liking the way that she looked. She’s tried multiple “blah” hairstyles over the years in an effort to make her feel better about herself, but none of them actually did anything for her self-esteem.

Thankfully, she was finally able to find the right hairstylist and makeup artist to make her feel like her “old” younger self again!

Linda is proof positive that age is just a number, and when you learn to love how you look on the outside, your true inner beauty shines even brighter!

Just because you get older doesn’t mean you have to throw in the towel and not care about your looks anymore. Taking care of your outward appearance isn’t always about vanity, like it may have been in your 20’s – now it’s about honoring your body, your temple, the house your spirit lives in!

The outdated idea that we should all just let our hair go gray, stop wearing makeup, and fill our closets with baggy old-lady trousers needs to end right now.

This 62-year-old grandmother from the Midwest has never really liked long hair.

For some women, long hair represents youth and vitality. Our history and culture are rife with examples that perpetuate the idea that long hair equals youthful beauty.

Take, for example, the image of Lady Godiva, who famously rode naked on horseback through the streets of Coventry with only her long locks of hair covering up her modest bits.

Or Rapunzel, the fairy tale princess who unfurled her long tresses from the top of a locked tower so that her prince could climb her rope-hair and rescue her.

But there are other fine examples of women, like Halle Berry and Winona Ryder, who totally rock the pixie chick look. We all have different tastes and preferences when it comes to beauty. And that’s totally okay!

Linda’s thinning, shoulder-length hair is admittedly not really doing much for her looks or self-esteem.

“I’m looking for shorter hair…a thing that will give it more lift.”

What IS good for Linda’s self-esteem is the trip she took from her hometown in Kanas to see YouTube’s version of The Wizard of Oz, otherwise known as the Makeup Guy!

I think you can guess where this is going. Yep, it’s another amazing makeover that will have you gasping at just how much magic he can weave with that hair pick of his.

Linda has gone through multiple stylists over the years, and her last one just didn’t know what to do with her hair.

So, when she walked into the Makeover Guy’s salon, the drab, thinning hair you see on camera is how she’s been walking around in real life.

She was the prime example of “what you see is what you get.”

But that scraggly, mousey-blonde hair is not what Linda wanted, and now she’s about to get the upgrade of a lifetime!

Since changes to our outward appearance can make a huge difference in how we feel (bad hair day, anyone?), it means there’s no good excuse for giving up on our self-care habits.

This is our body for life, and we should maintain (and decorate) it in the same fun manner that we maintain the appearance of our homes.

Plus, just take a look at how happy Linda is with her age-defying makeover!

Now that she knows how great she can look and feel with a few tweaks to her hair and makeup, you know she’ll be getting regular beauty checkups to maintain the look of her spiritual home for life.
