Military men and women put their lives on the line for the nation. It is their sworn duty and they bring their best whenever a need to be there for the country arises.
Veterans are hailed as heroes and whenever we hear of them passing away, our response is to always provide the best tribute there is in recognition of their incredible patriotism and love for the country.
On one Alaska Airlines flight, people on board were informed that a fallen veteran is being taken to his final resting place via their flight.
The news about a hero being in the same plane as the passengers brought heavy silence to the airport. The hush that covered the place was almost tangible, and everyone knew that someone special and remarkable has already left this world.
However, through the silence, one woman spoke and broke the thick atmosphere.
One flight attendant, a black woman, decided to speak up and speak her mind.
A passenger of the plane named Julia Collman Jette was able to film the entire event and shared it on her social media account. Julia was traveling from Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport to Seattle, Washington.
Her video was viewed tons of times online and in the clip, it can be seen that a black woman was speaking through the hush. She opened up about her feelings about boarding a plane with a fallen hero.
The black woman’s name is Denise Snow.
Denise is a flight attendant of the airline who knew about the special situation they were all in. She refused to let the moment pass without giving her own tribute to the deceased.
She announced that she will be performing her version of the national anthem, “Star-Spangled Banner” in honor of the hero who deserved all the recognition he can get. He was a hero of the nation, and it was only right for him to be honored with a rendition of the national anthem.
The fallen veteran on board was known as AJ.
Denise acknowledged the existence of AJ and his priceless contribution to the country’s freedom. To pay him tribute, Denise sang the national anthem and her lovely voice filled the plane.
Her powerful and strong vocals filled the airport and everyone felt the sincerity in her performance. She truly gave it her heart and gave a performance that would make AJ proud, if he were alive.
Denise was required to do it, but she decided it was the right thing to do.
The flight attendant was not told to perform nor was she required to do so. But, she understood the gravity of the situation they were all in and wanted to do something to remind everyone that a special and courageous man once stood and fought for all of them.
And now that he is gone, he was entitled to be paid tribute, and his honor and work for the nation is something that is priceless and incredible.
