350 lb mom drops an unbelievable 200 pounds in 15 months thanks to these changes

Just two years ago, working mom, Megan Christenson, started on her weight loss journey.

Although it was a long road for Megan, she started out slow and committed to making minor changes that made a huge impact over time. At 350lbs, she knew that she needed to do something that would allow her to have a fulfilling life with her husband and kids.

Megan started to put herself and her health first.

She started doing a light workout routine early in the morning followed by an outdoor walk. She also made some changes to her diet. These small but meaningful changes helped her lose more than 200lbs in 15 months.

“I have been overweight my entire life…it really became out of control after I had children. Being a parent at 350lbs…there are a lot of things you can’t do…Things like climbing stairs or going for a walk..I knew I needed a change if I wanted to be here for my children. I decided I didn’t care how long it takes me I’m just going to make one small change at a time.” – Megan told TODAY

Even though it was a long journey for Megan, she began to see changes in as little as a month.

After six months, she had lost 100 lbs. After realizing her potential, Megan started to research how she could maintain her weight loss. She learned that strength training was the way to go and she was ready and willing to jump on board.

She told TODAY that she wants people to know that they have everything they need to succeed with weight loss. She knows that the before and after pics can sometimes be daunting for someone who is struggling with their weight. However, she will often share tips and information with her followers about how she was able to lose weight.

She has her husband, her kids, and her friends backing her up on her journey.

It’s essential to have support while on a weight loss journey and Megan was lucky to have it. She and her husband make a point to cook healthy meals for the whole family.

After her weight loss, Megan was dealing with loose skin and made the decision to have surgery.

Because of the surgery, she was advised by her doctor to hold off on exercising and any strenuous activity. Megan’s husband said this was difficult for her. Her doctor did say she could walk 10 miles if she wanted…and she took him up on that suggestion. Each morning, Megan would walk alone or with a friend or neighbor sometimes over 10 miles a day.

“My heaviest at over 350lbs. Am I even the same person?? So much has changed in the last two years that I feel like my mind is still trying to catch up. Everything I needed to change my life and my story has been inside me the whole time. And it’s inside you too. Just don’t give up! 💜

Megan recently decided that her days of looking at the scale were over.

She decided to take it to a ‘smash room’ where she went to town. Through her journey, she has learned how to live a healthy lifestyle and no longer needs a scale to help her along the way.
