Single mother Cara Simmons would do anything to provide for her family. There were three children to look after so things weren’t easy, but that never stood in her way of putting food on the table.

That immense dedication paid off when she received a special assignment at her housekeeping job.

Once in a blue moon, good things do happen to good people. So now we challenge you to find a better example than Cara’s story.

Caring for her kids always came before anything else. She’d never risk time away from work since she needed the money to feed her kids.

Simmons spent so much time focused on her job that she’d forgotten what a vacation was.

That didn’t matter because the smile on her kids’ faces made up for it all. She was willing to forget vacations if it meant raising her children the way she wanted to.

But working so hard played an adverse effect on Cara’s health. She was too dedicated to her job, and that caused exhaustion.

On several occasions, she had to visit the hospital because of stomach ulcers, and those stressed her out too.

Simmons spent so long refusing to take a week or two off, only to be forced to take time away due to ill health. How long before she caught a break?

Simmons didn’t have much longer to wait. When she turned up for work at Maid Brite, a housekeeping company in Ohio, she was given an assignment that would change her life.

It didn’t seem like anything out of the ordinary since it was the same job every day, except it was for a very important client.

But when she arrived at the house, she found that things weren’t quite as what she expected.

When she arrived, Cara was informed that the house had been cleaned. The admission took her by surprise.

What was the point of being there if her job had already been done?

Simmons was then told that there were still things for her to do.

Her client was throwing a party for her boss that evening, and various preparations were still needed.

Cara’s day was going to be very different.

The first room she saw was the kitchen. Simmons was introduced to world-renowned chef Manny Slomovits, assigned to prepare the food for the party.

The client told Cara that her first task was to taste everything the chef was making to ensure it was good enough to serve for the evening.

Cara was stunned. She was used to polishing services, not stuffing her face with free food.

But she wasn’t turning down the opportunity to try out fine dining without paying a single cent.

Cara got to taste lobster, quail eggs, edible gold, white truffles, shrimp, and steak. By the time the food had stopped, she was stuffed.

She’d never eaten so well, and she knew no one would believe her if she told them what just happened.

Lobster and truffles were a huge step up from the spaghetti that she confessed was her favorite, and they weren’t exactly in her price range.

The surprises didn’t end there for Simmons.

The doorbell rang, and Cara was asked to answer it. Two masseurs stood there offering services for the party, but they had an issue.

They were worried about getting cramps in their hands, so they asked if they could practice before the party.

Her client was busy, so Cara had to help them out with their problem. The housekeeper was quick to say yes.

Free food and now a free massage too?

The two masseurs got to working the stress out of her body, and she couldn’t believe her luck.

Her client told her to enjoy herself saying what she was doing was “very important,” but Cara just couldn’t understand what exactly was going on.

Simmons felt guilty since she wasn’t doing much work, and it felt like she was taking advantage of everything.

Housekeeping was her job, and she enjoyed it because she considered it therapeutic. Doing something fun doesn’t feel like work for her.

Cara was enjoying her massage, but it had to end eventually. When the client came down to ask for help, she thought it was finally time for laborious work.

Since arriving at the place, all Simmons had done was get pampered, and it didn’t make sense.

But her next task was just as easygoing as the rest. She followed her client upstairs, where the woman was having a clear out and said she needed Cara’s help.

Cara was blown away. Her client gave her free rein of her wardrobe and said that there were a bunch of clothes she had to get rid of.

Cara was free to take whatever she wanted.

Many items caught Simmons’ eye, like a pair of designer heels, a gold watch, and a couture top. The client insisted that she take the stuff for herself since she was getting rid of it anyway.

Simmons was amazed at how well some of them fit her. She’d shown up for work expecting to clean a house, and here she was getting expensive clothes for no effort at all.

There just had to be some kind of explanation.

She was being spoiled, and she couldn’t figure out why.

Fortunately, the doorbell rang again, and her explanation was waiting for her right outside.

Cara opened the door and a mover stood there with several boxes for the party that night.

The client asked her to unpack them, and that’s when Cara discovered that all the stuff in the boxes were hers.

Her sweater and framed picture had been packed and sent to this stranger’s house, and she didn’t know why.

When she asked why her stuff was sent there, the mover responded with something incredible.

“It says here these items are for the woman who lives here in this house – Ms. Simmons.”

Cara’s expression was priceless. That was her name, and those were her belongings, but it wasn’t exactly her house.

The client made it more confusing by telling the mover that Ms. Simmons was her boss, leaving Cara speechless again.

Simmons was adamant that there was a mix-up somewhere because this wasn’t her house.

With her current salary, she could never afford the place.

Despite Cara’s protests, though, the mover insisted that the house was hers. It was her name he had written down, so she had to be the owner of the place.

With both sides unable to reach an agreement, the mover said there were more things outside that might clear things up.

He led the way out of the house where Cara saw the delivery truck he’d arrived in. It was only when he opened the back that everything started to make sense.

The back door of the truck rose, and Cara was stunned to see her children inside.

The three of them jumped out and ran over to her who was once again lost for words.

With her kids were Cara’s sister and niece, and it was clear that something was going on, but what?

Simmons got her answer when the mover removed his hat and revealed that he wasn’t who he said he was.

It was actor and comedian Greg Benson, and he had something special for the housekeeper.

Greg then confessed that he was with Prank It Forward, the series that does “good things for people who deserve some goodness.”

Cara’s sister and employer knew the housekeeper was owed a day off, so they worked with the show to spoil her as much as they could.

The massage and free food were meant to help Cara “relax and have a great day,” and it worked.

The clothes she received were picked out beforehand to ensure that she liked them.

Now it all made sense. Cara thought her day had been far too easy to be real, and she was right.

There was one unanswered question left: What was her stuff doing at the house?

Greg then announced that the property really was hers. A team had renovated and rebuilt it all so she could raise her family in it.

The realization that her life was about to change brought Simmons to tears. Happy ones.

Cara’s sister and employer knew of what had been planned throughout the day, but they didn’t know about this big reveal.

They were all in a state of disbelief, but as they were shown around the house, the family was assured that it was all theirs.

Despite the hardships they faced before, everything was finally coming together for them.

Cara couldn’t be more grateful to all involved in making this dream a reality, including those who nominated her for the show in the first place.

As if the new house wasn’t enough, Greg had one more surprise for Cara.

During the celebration at the end of the show, he discussed the housekeeper’s desire to go traveling.

Greg then revealed that they’d paid for her and her sister to go to Riviera Maya in Mexico so they could see the pyramids.

All those years of refusing to take time off because of work, and here she was receiving the vacation of a lifetime. Nothing could have made Cara’s day better.
