A five-year-old girl was saved from abduction thanks to a woman’s actions.
One afternoon, the police received a call from a man who claimed to be a UNC Rex Hospital in Raleigh, North Carolina.
He shared that a patient fought against hospital staff and injured two people while she was trying to get out of the building.
Furthermore, the caller confirmed that the patient took one security car and drove away from the hospital premises.
The police immediately acted on the information provided to them.
After a short time, the cops found the vehicle, and it was vacant.
Things went from bad to worse.
In the police investigation, it was found out that the driver left the hospital’s security vehicle and switched into a Lexus.
What shocked the police was that witnesses shared that they saw only one person but two individuals in the car.
Later on, it was found that the two persons in the Lexus were Crystal Beatrice Walston, 36, and her five-year-old daughter, Amani Jade Bruce.
The older woman in the car was Crystal, and she abducted her own daughter, Amani, from their home on Rosedown Drive in Cary.
This shocking development had the police moving even fiercer and faster, determined to save the young victim.
An Amber alert was released, and people in the surrounding area were notified of the missing vehicle.
Photos of the Lexus were circulated, and people were informed of the vehicle sought by the cops.
The next morning, Angela Coffey was going to bring her kids to their grandmother’s house.
She saw the Amber alert and the photo of the missing vehicle on her phone.
She was on her way to work and was driving along I-40 when she realized the car she had seen in the photo was the car right in front of her.
She could not believe it at first.
When she realized she could do something to help the kid, she decided to do what was right.
Angela called 911 and informed them of her location.
She tailed the Lexus for about 30 minutes while staying on the phone to help the authorities catch the abductor.
The police are thankful for Angela’s help in saving Amani’s life.
