As they say, “God works in mysterious ways.”

We often get lost in the mundanity of our lives that we tend to forget our capability of being kind, generous, and considerate.

A woman had a spiritual experience when she came to the aid of people she doesn’t even know.

And when she explained why she did so, she could only say that God told her so.

Sara Fleming started her Facebook post with a cost.

$94.10.

That was the number she saw on the register.

It was 10:00 PM that night and the customer in front of her, a dad, was already becoming more and more embarrassed.

But he had to provide.

They had to eat. So he asked the cashier to swipe his card again.

She didn’t say how many times they swiped the card, only that the result was always the same – declined.

His children, a boy and girl, were tugging at him to leave.

“The girl was a pre-teen, and the boy was about my son’s age. I could see the embarrassment written all over their faces.” She said on her Facebook post.

This prompted Sara to observe even more.

She recalled that it was just after Thanksgiving so she was curious if they ever celebrated at all since the man was so keen on purchasing food.

Defeated, the dad began asking the cashier to put his groceries aside. The cashier then put cans of tuna, boxes of pasta, and some fruits under the counter.

At that moment, a miracle happened.

Fleming said she felt something in her body. It came in a form of a gentle shove on the back and a mild electric shock to her heart.

There was a voice.

That voice told her to pay for the man’s groceries. It assured her that it will be provided for.

Assured her that, even if Fleming wasn’t really in a position to help, all she had to do was act.

Then, Fleming said, “I’ve got it.”

“Please put everything back. I’ll get it all,” she said to the cashier.

The man and his family were surprised but were also greatly thankful for the generosity.

After paying, the family hugged Fleming and thanked her. She observed that he had no ring, and he confirmed that he was a single dad.

“’It’s okay. I wanted to help. I know it’s what God told me to do. And I have been there’ I replied quietly,” she wrote on her Facebook post.

She thought God’s providence was complete.

But she was wrong. In the second part of her post, she said that she and her family was sitting in church.

Right before the pastor’s sermon, she saw something that made her cry.

Right at the end of their pew was the family she helped.

They sat in the same pew.

She never mentioned what church she goes to but here they are, praying as a family.

“I begin to sob. My skin is covered in goosebumps. I never even told him where I went to church.” She said in her post, “I just obeyed God.”

She ended her post with a line from the bible:

“Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”

If that’s not a reflection of the heart of God, I don’t know what is.

Hear Sara recall how God called on her to help and blessed her for it in her post below!
