A Sikh Canadian politician’s flawless response to a woman’s angry anti-Muslim tirade went viral.

Jagmeet Singh had the option of becoming upset when an angry woman approached him during a “Jagmeet and greet” before going on an anti-Muslim tirade. Singh, however, did not become upset. Instead, he encouraged the crowd of people to assist him in chanting the slogan for his campaign – “love and courage.”

The woman took to YouTube to share her side of what happened during the meet and greet.

The woman who approached Singh in an aggressive manner during a meet and greet for his campaign with loud questions about the Muslim Brotherhood and Sharia Law recently took to YouTube to share her side of what happened. According to Vice News, her video was not as apologetic as people hoped for.

“Color, race, religion, they’re really not the point here,” the woman swears in the video as she maintains she isn’t racist.

Jennifer Bush emerged from the crowd to interrupt the Canadian politician with her tirade.

As Vice – and many other news outlets – point out, the biggest flaw in the woman’s tirade is the fact that Sikhism and Islam are two entirely different religions.

The tirade took place during a meet and greet in Brampton, Ontario, on Sept. 6 at the Professor’s Lake Community Centre. Singh stepped in front of the crowd and asked if they wanted him to project his voice or use a microphone. This was when the woman emerged from the crowd and stood directly in front of him.

Bush proceeded to go on an anti-Muslim tirade after introducing herself to the politician. Claiming she was a woman’s advocate, most agree she flew off the handle shortly afterward.

The woman yelled into the Canadian politician’s face as she went on her tirade.

“We know you’re about Sharia Law. We know you’re about the Muslim Brotherhood. We know about your vote.”

Bush claimed she tried to contact Singh, but he refused to answer her calls. So, she decided to attend his event and speak with him directly about her opinions. In a large chunk of the video, viewers can see the woman telling people not to touch her or she would call the police on them.

“When is your Sharia going to end? At what point, when we’re throwing gays off rooftops?”

Most were not too surprised by what happened given the current anti-Islam and anti-immigration movement in Canada.

These groups contain individuals who view all individuals with brown skin as Muslim or Muslim supporters. Singh frequently interrupted the angry woman to reiterate his campaign slogan – love and courage.

“What this is, we don’t want to be intimidated by hate. We don’t want hatred to ruin a positive event, so let’s show people how we treat people with love.”

The politician spoke both to the crowd and to the woman directly as some tried to remove her from the stage.

“We welcome you, we support you, and we love you.”

In less than 24 hours, the video of what happened received more than 200,000 views. Singh, unfortunately, was familiar with this type of treatment from people who judged him based on his skin color and nothing more.

“You know growing up as a brown-skinned, turbaned, bearded man, I faced things like this before. It’s not a problem, we can deal with it. It’s not a problem, there are going to be other obstacles that we face and we’re going to face them with love and courage.”
