The day when a woman finds out that she’s pregnant can be the best day of her life or the beginning of a nightmare.
For those who have a healthy relationship with their partner, or those who don’t but have the full support of their families, the prospect of having a child is nothing but a wonderful thought.
Yet, women who are suffering in abusive relationships, or young girls who get pregnant and don’t even have the support of their parents, might feel overwhelmed at the thought of a baby or even terrified. Some of them end up bringing up the children they bring to the world, but others opt for surrendering them.
When surrendering their newborn, these women are aware of the fact that they will probably never see their child again. Still, they know this is their only option if they want the child to have the opportunity to grow up in a healthy environment.
Unfortunately, not all babies end up in loving families, but this is a completely different story.
The woman in this story is one of the lucky ones. Although her life started miserably since she was abandoned at an airport, she soon found a loving family and two amazing people to call mom and dad.

Elizabeth was found at Reno Airport in January 1980, and she was adopted by Tom and Katherine Muto, who immediately fell in love with her.
“I just knew,” her mother told Inside Edition. “I knew when I saw her, she’d be my baby forever. That’s the one God chose for me.”

She had always known she was adopted. Although she had come to terms with that, she had always lived with a big “why” in her mind.
“I grew up my entire life trying to figure out what I did in those 10 days that ultimately led to them saying, ‘Let’s just leave her at the airport,'” she told People.
Growing up, she decided she wanted to know where she came from, what her origins were, so she did some research. She even turned to a private investigator sent by the TLC show Long Lost Family, but he wasn’t able to find anything.

So, she had only one option left. She tried the popular DNA test kit, 23andMe, and she found some matches.
In fact, she found out she was related to three women, and she contacted all of them. Although she started building a relationship with two of them, later on, she was disappointed because none of them proved to be her biological mother.

The third woman had died, so Elizabeth concluded she must have been her mom.
Eventually, during quarantine, she was contacted by a cousin of hers, who gave her her biological mother’s contact details. Thanks to the free time this pandemic has given her, she found the courage to send the woman a letter.
However, she was sure she would receive no answer. Rejection was all she expected.

Against all odds, the woman replied with an email and explained everything.
“When I received her email, she shared that she wasn’t able to take care of me as she believed I deserved,” Muto recalls. “Therefore, she gave me to her roommate who was supposed to take me to an adoption agency. When my birth mother was told that I was actually left at the airport instead, it took quite a toll.”
Today, Muto is happy to include one more person in her family- her biological mother.
