Planning a wedding takes weeks, months, and for some, even years.
We want to make sure that everything is perfect. After all, we would assume that we would only marry once, right?
Aside from the budget, we need to make sure that the venue, food, cake, flowers, and even the gowns would all be ready on time.
It’s also stressful when things don’t go as planned, but overall, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience we would remember for the rest of our lives.
We all want a beautiful, happy, and memorable wedding day.
That’s exactly what happened to a couple just before their wedding, eight years ago.
Dan and Jackie Anderson were so happy that finally, they were going to tie the knot.
The wedding took place in Crosslake, Minnesota, where everything was prepared on time.
Everyone was wearing their sophisticated gowns and suits, and all their family and friends were there.
It couldn’t be more perfect for the bride and groom.
Everyone was looking forward to a beautiful wedding day.
Since everything was early, they took some photos before the wedding started.
The venue had so many breathtaking views, so they took photos here and there.
Then they saw the dock.
Of course, they wouldn’t possibly pass the opportunity to take a photo there.
Since they still had an hour to spare, everyone went to the dock and lined up.
It was a beautiful sight.
On the left side, all the men dressed in gorgeous suits lined up, then in the middle, the soon-to-be bride and groom posed. On the right side were all the stunning ladies in their black gowns.
Everyone was all smiles when suddenly, the dock tilted.
One girl ran as the dock collapsed.
Three other girls followed, but the rest were not so fortunate.
The combined weight of 22 people was too much for the old dock. It all happened so quickly.
In a few seconds, the dock collapsed and it plunged them into chest-high water.
You can see that the groom tried to carry his bride-to-be and even that didn’t work.
The videographer, Megan Fritze, recorded the unexpected event.
According to Fritze, even after the said accident, the couple, along with all their guests, still laughed it off.
As the guests arrived, the entire wedding entourage was all busy drying themselves.
Despite the accident, the wedding ceremony started only ten minutes over schedule.
Fritze also noted that if you would see the couple walking down the aisle, you wouldn’t know what had transpired an hour before the wedding.
The couple was all smiling as they said their vows.
We can’t control everything, and no matter how much you try to make things perfect, they won’t be.
If you would allow setbacks to ruin your mood, then everything else will follow.
Good thing Andi and Jackie Anderson didn’t allow this setback to ruin their wedding.
They did what they could to dry themselves, and they tied the knot with happiness in their hearts.
