Dwayne Johnson decided to do something nice for a fan.
With his movie Red Notice breaking records on Netflix, Johnson decided there was one fan in particular who deserved to be recognized for his good deeds.
Johnson took to social media to share the heartwarming moment when he gifted his personal custom truck to Navy vet Oscar Rodriguez.
Johnson wanted to surprise a fan with a new car.
He invited fans to come watch a special screening of Red Notice and wanted to do something extra special for one fan in attendance.
“Today was a good day,” Johnson wrote on Instagram. “Merry Christmas @coach_orod and enjoy your new truck. I invited fans to a special theater screening of RED NOTICE and I wanted to do something cool for all of them.”
“I also wanted to do something BIG… something MASSIVE…something unforgettable for one fan.”
Johnson’s original idea was to give away the Porsche Taycan from the movie.
He reached out to Porsche about giving away the car as a promotional tool for both them and the movie. Porsche didn’t go for the idea but Johnson still wanted to do something nice. He decided he was going to give away his own personal custom truck instead.
“My original idea was to give away the Porsche Taycan, that I drive in the movie, Red Notice.
So we reached out to Porsche, but they said no.”
“But I still said, yes
I’ll do one better.
I’ll give away my personal custom truck as the gift.
My baby”
Johnson chooses which fan will receive his personal custom truck.
Prior to the screening, The Rock looked into the background of the audience members. He found out whatever information he could about all of them.
Oscar Rodriguez’s story moved him the most.
Oscar likely could never have imagined his trip to see Red Notice would turn out the way it did. Few people have ever gone to a movie screening and ended being gifted the star’s personal vehicle.
“I gathered as much information as I could about everyone in the audience and ultimately, Oscar’s story moved me.”

Oscar is a good person and Johnson wanted to do something special for Rodriguez that he would always remember.

Oscar couldn’t believe what was happening.
When Johnson explained that he was giving Oscar his truck, the man simply couldn’t believe it. He dropped to his knees and cried out, “What the heck is happening?!” It was a beautiful moment where a good person gets rewarded for simply being a good person.
