Hard to imagine going anywhere without a cell phone these days. That’s why we can imagine this family was shocked when they pulled out their sofa and heard a loud crunch and crack. Apparently, their son’s phone slipped between the sofa and got caught someplace really bad, and here’s the result.

This vacationer was taking her first trip to Hawaii and asked a local to snap a shot of her. She was promised a close-up, but had no idea until later what that meant. Apparently, the cameraman wanted to capture the gorgeous scene and only a small peek of the vacationer.

This couple listened to their friends when they heard that their vacation to Puerto Vallarta wouldn’t be hit by hurricanes. Well here’s the storm footage during that day. Just goes to show that being in a valley doesn’t make you safe.

12. Lights Out!
There’s a time in everyone’s life when you realize it’s just not your day. For this couple, it came when they arrived at a hotel for vacation and half the hotel, including their room, just lost power. They ended up going home early since that’s just a bad sign.

This vacationer just wanted a gorgeous room of the mountains. They even paid extra for it. Little did they know that the snow plow ran right past their room and dumped a lot of snow in front of the windows. We hope they demanded a refund from the hotel.

This hiker went through almost four hours of rain to reach one of Norway’s most renowned hiking trails. Their reward was this stunning view of a rock and a man holding their arms out. We haven’t the foggiest idea if it was worth it, but you can’t deny that’s a gorgeous shot.

This vacationer was traveling to the Grand Canyon only to find that the view was obstructed by fog. Even if they never actually saw the Grand Canyon, they seem really upbeat about it. Which is a great attitude to have isn’t it? Even if not the most exciting camera shots.

No, this isn’t a big reveal scene in a sci-fi movie. It’s just the Gateway Arch in St. Louis obscured by fog. This vacationer was told that this was the “must-see” experience for their vacation and they were maybe a little disappointed. Hopefully they can try again soon.

This vacationer was excited to see Mount Everest from this spot in Nepal. But nature got in the way and threw up the foggy blinders to get in the way. At least they can say they got to go.

This vacationer had been waiting patiently to get a good shot of Mount Rainier. But the mountain was cloaked in fog for days, so the best she could do was this side by side shot. One commentor pointed out that they live in the area and had only seen the mountains a few times in their life.

On this vacation to Visit Casa Batlló In Barcelona, the Redditor discovered that it was closed and blocked off for repairs. What an absolute letdown. But don’t worry, because Barcelona has many buildings in the same style so they probably got to go somewhere else!
23. Nailed It!
This vacationer went all the way to Wittenberg, Germany to see the door Martin Luther nailed his 95 Thesis to. This religious wonder is of prime interest to anyone interested in religious history. Unfortunately, the famous door was closed for restoration at the time.
24. A little closer A little Higher
This pair almost had the perfect photo of Mount Rushmore. But the camera just wasn’t at the right angle to capture the impressive monument. Wonder if a selfie stick would have been better.
25. Maybe it’s evidence

This vacationing couple took this photo of the Eiffel Tower during their honeymoon. As you can see, they mist out on seeing the wonder because of a thick fog that rolled in. All they got was a romantic view of the chainlink fence around their room. C’est la vie!
35. Something’s in the way
This vacationer was visiting Machu Picchu for the first time and asked his dad to snap a photo. But wouldn’t you know it, his finger got in the way. But maybe his son was making a funny face that would ruin the shot.
36. Check out that view
This hiker was on a 120 mile solo hike when he asked an elderly person to snap a photo of him. But as it turned out, they were struggling with the photo and ended up snapping a headless shot instead. The hiker was a good sport about ti and didn’t complain when he realized the old man was struggling. At least it showed off the trail and the hiker’s physique.
