Hector is a busy man with a lot of deliveries to make. But as a father he couldn't stand seeing one little boy's face as he watched his neighbors get their packages.

Since the pandemic, online shopping has become both a hobby and a necessity for most of us.

We don’t have to go out. We can buy our necessities in just a few taps. We also give our delivery people a sustainable job because of the demand for deliveries.

Believe it or not, there’s this kind of joy that we feel when our package arrives.

Not everyone knows that joy.

No wonder unboxing videos have been trending lately.

For one boy, watching the delivery truck arrive in his neighborhood has become a fun pastime for him.

Langston, the little boy in our story, made a habit of waiting on his home’s balcony.

He’s joyful for other people’s deliveries.

There, he waits for Hector Velasco, their local and friendly UPS delivery guy, to arrive.

Langston was so happy to see that Hector, like Santa, has so many packages for everyone.

He held out hope for one.

Like most kids, this little boy expected that one day, he would get one too.

Sadly, Langston had no packages.

“I came right up to your neighbors and he’s like ‘I want one too!’ I felt like I couldn’t do anything at the time, but I’m like you know what, let me see if I can try to brighten his day, you know what I mean,” Hector Velasco told ABC7 interview.

Hector smiled at the child and said, “Maybe next time.” But being a father himself, Hector wanted to do something for the little boy.

Hector left a note:

“Hi, this is Hector, your UPS driver. [I’ve] seen your son plenty of times on the balcony and he seems very sad [that] he doesn’t get any packages.”

While waiting for the details, Hector looked for something he could give the little boy, and then he also bought some candies.

Langston’s turn for a delivery.

The next day, as usual, the little boy was eagerly waiting on his home’s balcony. Then he saw Hector climbing up the stairs, and he was looking at him.

Langston got up, and before he could ask Hector, the delivery guy handed him his package!

Brooke and Sam Walbuck, Langston’s parents, filmed the special moment.

“It made me feel special,” said Langston upon opening the box of toys and candies.

Hector wants to spread the love.

When Langston’s parents asked Hector why he was so kind to their kid, he simply answered:

“The world didn’t give my wife and I any boys. Gave us two beautiful girls. And I’ve had them cars in my collection but you got to let them go sometime and I felt like today was the day.”

Indeed, Langston and his family felt the sincere love from their kind UPS driver.

“For him to be that busy and still be that thoughtful, it just says a lot, for him as a person and as a dad,” said Langston’s father.

Brooke Walbuck decided to post the beautiful encounter on her Facebook account.

Of course, the post went viral.

Langston wanted to do something for his new friend, as well.

He felt it was his turn to surprise Hector.

They waited for him and gave him two adorable paper bags full of goodies for his two beautiful daughters.

During hard times, kindness is everything.
