Tim Tebow is arguably one of the most kind-hearted athletes in America.

A quick Google search reveals countless instances of him being a Good Samaritan in both little and enormous ways. In a 2009 GQ article (cited by USA Today’s For The Win), a fan describes running into Tebow on the street and asking him to take a picture. Unfortunately, however, the man’s batteries had died.

In the article, he recalled: “I said I had some batteries in my truck, can you wait here? He said, ‘Yeah, no problem.'”
“I came back ten minutes later. He was sitting there, by himself, waiting for me to take a picture. Any other person would have just left with their friends.”
“Then he offered me his number so when I got it developed, he could autograph it.”
“That’s Tim Tebow.”

From praying on a plane with passengers experiencing a medical emergency to paying off shoppers’ layaways at Christmas, doing good is in Tebow’s nature— and this story goes to prove it.
Last year, Judy Adams, a special needs student, asked Tebow to be her date to the annual Night to Shine event.

Night to Shine is a prom event created by Tim Tebow and administered through the Tim Tebow Foundation. The worldwide high school event is designated for special needs students aged fourteen years and older— and that year, Judy Adams wanted Tebow to be her date.

Unfortunately, it just wasn’t possible. In an interview with Jimmy Fallon, Tebow explained the circumstances:
“She actually reached out to me and invited me to prom, and I was kind of flying all over the world going to a lot of them [Night to Shine events].”

Although Tebow couldn’t bring Judy to prom, he did take time out of his busy schedule to give her a special surprise.
During the same interview with Fallon, the camera pans to Judy and her family sitting in the audience. He says now that they’re both in the same room, he has something to ask her.
“Judy Adams, I was wondering if maybe I could have a dance?”

Immediately, the crowd starts to cheer— with Judy’s family even breaking down in tears.

Judy is beyond excited as she and Tebow clasp hands, coming together for a brief, slow dance.

If watching Judy’s reaction doesn’t melt your heart, you’re probably made of stone. Since being uploaded, the adorable moment has been viewed hundreds of thousands of times, and comments on the video read:
“This guy is truly amazing! Doesn’t deserve all the hate he gets.”
“I know Judy and her family. They do so many amazing things for the Down Syndrome community. They couldn’t be more deserving, and I am SO happy for them!”
“I am in tears right now watching this! He is literally the nicest human being!”
