Zac Clark’s story sounds like it comes from the pages of a comic book. But it really happened.
As a football player, Zac Clark is naturally strong for his age. But the 16-year-old’s recent show of strength is nothing short of staggering.
It all started when the kid was helping his mom, Lora, out with yard work. Then they heard someone calling for help nearby.
Lora looked at Zac and told him to go investigate.
“And I’m like ‘Zac!’ I said, ‘they’re calling for help!'” – Lora Clark, talking to FOX 8 News Cleveland.
But Zac had already sprung into action. He was rushing down the block, determined to see what was wrong.
Their 39-year-old neighbor had been fixing his car, when the jack broke, trapping him under the vehicle.
Zac could only see the neighbor’s legs. From the waist up, he was stuck under the car, with the pressure from the bumper crushing his ribs.
The car weighed 3,000 pounds. There was no way that Zac could have been able to lift it. But he was going to try anyway.
Zac bent down on his knees, grabbed the car and let out a huge scream. Then he pulled and, amazingly, the car started to lift into the air.
Zac was somehow moving the vehicle from on top of the neighbor.
The neighbor pulled himself from underneath the car. He gasped for air, and Zac let go, the car slamming down.
Zac, the neighbor and Lora couldn’t believe what had just happened. The neighbor was free. But by all rights, he should have been trapped under the vehicle still.
An ambulance was called and rushed to the hospital. Luckily, Zac had reached him soon enough for him to have sustained only relatively minor injuries. The doctors said that if Zac hadn’t suddenly assumed superhuman strength, then he would have lost his life. The neighbor later made a full recovery.
Zac decided to call up one of his role models, his football coach, to tell him what happened.
The coach, Dave Carroll, was amazed to hear what had happened. But he wasn’t surprised to hear that Zac had rushed to save the man.
Dave Carroll told FOX 8 News Cleveland:
“Why it doesn’t surprise me that he did this is he has just a huge heart. He is a young man that has been through tragedy himself with his father passing last summer.”
In fact, Zac says that his late father gave him the strength to save his neighbor that day. And so does Lora.
Who knows, perhaps in some way, Zac’s father’s spirit was helping him out?
A news report of Zac’s amazing rescue then appeared on YouTube.
It soon gained tens of thousands of views. And, to date, it also has over 500 likes and dozens of comments. People have been saying things like this:
Zac is nothing short of a superhero. Sure, he may not be able to conjure up superhuman strength all the time, but anyone who hears his story and sees him talk has to realize just how great he is. His father would be proud!
