These days you hear more about people being taken advantage of, with scams and other nefarious actions often crowding the headlines, but not in this case.

This teenage boy found a purse full of cash, and did the right thing, returning it to the lady who had accidentally left it in a shopping cart.

This kid deserves to be recognized.

Eliana Martin was shopping at her local grocery store in Chula Vista, CA when she accidentally forgot her purse in the shopping cart

Lucky for her, it wasn’t just any ordinary teenager who found her bag.

It was Adrian Rodriguez.

Thankfully, he was determined to do the right thing.

So determined, that mailing it wasn’t an option.

The young man decided to get in his car and actually bring it to Martin, who was in the process of canceling all of her credit cards.

“My first thought was to give it back,” Rodriguez told ABC 10 News, he went on to say: “I was debating if I should take it back into the store or just bring it, and I just brought it.”

The young man is captured on the Ring doorbell returning the purse to Martin’s aunt’s house, who shared the video with her.

After seeing the video, Martin couldn’t believe her eyes. Did this teenager straight out of high school really just bring her purse full of cash and cards back?

He did indeed.

And she just had to meet him in person.

That’s when ABC 10 News brought the two together so Martin could thank him in person, where Martin’s best friend, Melina Marquez, showered the good samaritan with compliments, saying:

“As soon as I saw his actions, I was like oh man, I hope my son grows up to be just like him”

Rodriguez did the deed out of the goodness in his heart but was rewarded for it when Martin and her best friend created a GoFundMe to show their appreciation

While talking with ABC 10 News, Rodriguez made it clear that he wasn’t expecting any kind of reward, he was just doing the right thing.

How incredible is that?

Most kids his age probably wouldn’t have returned it, and if they did, would have probably expected some kind of reward.

“I didn’t expect nothing back honestly, I just gave her her purse, I didn’t expect nothing,” he said.

The GoFundMe originally asked for $1000, but people were so moved by his actions that it has already surpassed that and currently sits at $14,970 as of this writing.

Stuff like this is so touching, we need more people in the world like Adrian Rodriguez.
