Kids are often known for their playful pranks and innocent mischief.

But every once in a while, one stands out with an act so heartwarming, it resonates far and wide. Jacksen Proell, a 13-year-old from Brainerd, Minnesota, is one such exceptional youngster.

While his friends were engrossed in the game of “ding-dong-ditch,” Jacksen felt a different pull.

Instead of joining the playful antics, he approached a doorbell camera with a message.

He began, “You can see me and you matter, alright? There’s always gonna be someone that cares about you. And you’re a good person. No matter what people say, you matter.”

But that was just the beginning.

After his buddy ran up and hit the doorbell, Jacksen continued:

“Ignore them. They’re losers. They’re ding-dong-ditching you. I’m just trying to say something nice. Like, I don’t know what they’re doing. They’re running away and stuff. I’m just trying to say that you matter man, or girl.”

He ended it with:

“Whoever you are you matter to someone. Just keep that in mind. Don’t forget that.”

While she was away on vacation, her phone alerted her to the activity at her door.

Jacksen is perfect proof that not all heroes wear capes.

His mother, Carissa, beamed with pride, reflecting on her son’s compassionate nature.

She shared with WCCO:

“He’s told me before that he’ll stand up for kids. Like, if he feels somebody’s being singled out or bullied that he’ll intervene and try to be a distraction so that that kid isn’t so targeted.”
